ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() 28 Sep 2015 – Open Workshop – Learn Image Compositing with Blender

Standard

Hello! This is a report of yesterday’s codeMeetUp()! An open workshop about compositing image with Blender 🙂 This is Aditia A. Pratama from Kampoong Monster as the instructor 🙂

IMG_7418

The audience showed up very early. They were really looking forward to this workshop 😉

IMG_7421

Most of the audiences had never attended this workshop before. But they could catch up 🙂

IMG_7423

We learn so much thing yesterday!

IMG_7424

We began with connecting render layers with composite.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 1.52.04 nachm.

And then we added up Invert effect in between. This one is with RGB checked.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 1.54.35 nachm.

And this one with RGB unchecked

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 1.54.37 nachm.

Then we added Split Viewer and Viewer to see the results

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.02.07 nachm.

Like this

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.04.46 nachm.

Then we added some Mix effects, with yellow

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.11.56 nachm.

And changing the Fac numbers to see the effect.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.12.06 nachm. Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.12.12 nachm.

Adding Multiply effect

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.15.21 nachm.

We can also use Difference to check the image before and after effects being applied

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.23.40 nachm.

This is what we created 😀

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 2.41.19 nachm.

We put some text in front of a background image (which was the screenshot of the worksheet 😀

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-28 um 3.03.27 nachm.

This is an example of more complex image compositing process. Look at those nodes and connections!

IMG_7425

And, this is us. We might be just a few but we have learned so many! 🙂

IMG_7427

Thanks a lot Kampoong Monster, see you again after the next one! 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 26 Sept 2015 – Making Antivirus

Standard

Today we created anti-virus for the virus we created last week 🙂

IMG_7293

Some of the kids didn’t come last week so they had to catch up typing two files 😉

IMG_7294

Cinta, after typing the virus, was prevented by Capt. Zaki to run it because she had not created any backups! So Capt. Zaki helped her.

IMG_7295

And after that, she refused to run the virus LOL. She was afraid the virus will destroy the whole computer :))

IMG_7296

This is Ardi typing the anti-virus code from the main source computer because he forgot to bring his glasses 🙂

IMG_7297

And Cinta, insisted to type the anti-virus before running the virus 🙂 The antivirus later deleted all lines in of her files and she got very angry and told everybody in the class to not ever running the antivirus because “the antivirus is meaner than the virus!” LOL. We later found out that Cinta’s virus, due to the it’s directory structure and where it saved had replicate it’s body and thus infect other .py files with MORE lines and make other files bigger and when she ran the antivirus, it deletes almost everything LOL. But don’t worry. Capt. Zaki was there to fix it 😉

IMG_7298

On the left side, is Nara, creating an agar.io game replicate with GameMaker. We challenge him to do it in GameMaker and he finished it in 10 -15″! We will learn how to do it on the next class, and will port it from GML to Python! 😉

IMG_7299

The kids observing new games on the internet while thinking how to create it with GM or Python. They think differently now. Whenever they play game, they would wonder how to create the game, not jus how to play it 😉

IMG_7300

This is not just a class. But a place when kids are socializing and make friends 🙂

IMG_7301

And this is the screenshot of the virus and the antivirus

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-24 um 6.04.26 nachm.

And this is the improved antivirus that will not recover itself (because eventhough it has a virus signature, it is NOT a virus 😉

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-25 um 10.17.53 nachm.

On the next class we probably will create an encryption virus. Or create agar.io game. Or BOTH! 😉

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() 21 September 2015 – Social Media and Political Campaign

Standard

Hello! Yesterday we had a special guest for our codeMeetUp()! Let us introduce Rezki Handayani (Rea), an expert in Social Media and Political Campaign 🙂

IMG_7095

She started with the story behind Obama’s campaign (such an interesting statistics)

IMG_7096

And how her team handle our major, Ridwan Kamil’s campaign.

IMG_7097

These are some of the campaign using social media. By using Facebook and Twitter.

IMG_7098

Make some activities involving public/communitiesIMG_7099

Or initiate conversation with influential public figure on social media.

IMG_7100

The campaign requires many talents because it needs lots of different medias to get the message through.

IMG_7101

And this is the story about our current president’s campaign!

IMG_7102

More or less similar to the major’s. But with tighter gap of time.

IMG_7103

And yeaaah, her team collaborated with ProCodeCG’s partner: Kampoong Monster to make an animation about Mr. (to be) President and his vision:

IMG_7104 IMG_7105 IMG_7106

One of the best talent behind these campaign is Shendi Abdi M, form Simulakrum Media Works. He created some amazing videos for previous campaigns.

IMG_7108

This regular event of sharing and discussion always surprises us with new insights and opportunity to meet new great people! 😉

IMG_7110

Yeaaah! This is us! Different crowd with the same vibe! Thank you all!!!

IMG_7113

Next week Kampoong Monster will be back with the regular animation workshop! 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 19 Sept 2015 – A Simple Virus in Python

Standard

Today we learn how a simple virus in Python works 🙂

IMG_6984

The main parts of a virus in general is: 1) searching files to be infected 2) infect the files in the to-be-infected list 3) execution of infection (this one is triggered by date)

IMG_6985

The virus is harmless. It just copy the body of itself to all .py files in current directory 🙂

IMG_6986

Kids are very serious when they are given an interesting topic like this 😛

IMG_6987

The purpose of teaching this to kids is to make them aware that coding should not be used for bad things because the effect can be very destructive.

IMG_6988

Next week we will be working on the anti-virus 😉

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() 14 Sept 2015 – A Motion Graph Workshop by Kampoong Monster

Standard

Yesterday, Kampoong Monster, gave a workshop about Motion Graph using Blender. The workshop will be every 2 weeks, and each time it gets more interesting with more people joining in 🙂

The instructor of the workshop was Bintang Senja – CG Supervisor, with the assistance of Chaerul Abdillah – 3D Generalist of Kampoong Monster.

FullSizeRender 41

We learned to make a simple motion graph animation, using few assets: several texts and several photos.

FullSizeRender 31

Animation is a tedious job. It requires persistency and hard work! 😀

FullSizeRender 6

This is the audience

FullSizeRender 10

We have a junior animator who persistently comes to the workshop! 😉

FullSizeRender 21

More people joining in each time. Seems like people are looking forward to go to this workshop.

FullSizeRender 50

These are some of the screenshots of what we did! Sorry we don’t post the materials to YouTube or whatsoever yet.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-14 um 2.13.55 nachm. Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-14 um 2.42.19 nachm.

And this is us! Cannot wait for the next workshop!

FullSizeRender 8

See you again next week, the topic will be announced on our Facebook page! 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 12 Sept 2015 – Modding in Minecraft

Standard

Today we slow down a bit 🙂 after spending several weeks making calculator, learning some GUI with Python tkinter, create encryption, decryption and take a look at some virus coding, yesterday we did some Minecraft modding again! 🙂

FullSizeRender

Some of the kids have never played Minecraft before so the captains gave them some jump start on how to play it 🙂

FullSizeRender 2

The other ones who are already expert shared tips and show some tricks to the class. Like how to create interesting mechanical tricks with redstone 😉

FullSizeRender 3

Some of the shows some demos of command blocks too, which is really cool because with it we are now have a car in Minecraft 😀

FullSizeRender 4

Next week we will be back on track again. We will continues the lesson on Python, and we will probably learn to create some good viruses 😉

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() 7 Sept 2015 – From Ecoethno to Ecocraft

Standard

Our guest on ProCodeCG codeMeetUp yesterday was Dr. Muhammad Ihsan DRSAS, S.Sn.,M.Sn, the founder of Ecoethno and Ecocraft 🙂

FullSizeRender 3

Ecoethno organizes outbound adventure for kids. It offers different experience for kids by bringing them to places they have never been before while also educate them about things they won’t get at school and also at home 🙂

Dr. Ihsan and his wife, Ira Shintia, started Ecoethno since 1996. They are very experienced in extreme outbounds stuff like wallclimbing, rafting or kayaking.

Their passion about kids, education and doing outdoor activities bring Ecoethno to the next level: Ecocraft. As they observed, every place they visit has their own uniqueness, in terms of culture, values and also handcrafts. Ecocraft has a mission to educate the craftsmen to improve their skill and find their markets.

The audience was just a few but didn’t mean this event failed to accomplished its goals 🙂

FullSizeRender 6

The mission of ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() is to bring people together to share things and discuss different spectrum of knowledge among people with different background 😉

Yesterday, Lenny Rosadiawan, a PhD student from Bonn Germany, was among the audience. She is currently researching how people learn through communities. She picked ProCodeCG as one of her subject of observation 😉

FullSizeRender

Lenny invited her advisor, a professor from Bonn Germany. The professor was very interested to find out how communities work in Indonesia. She wants to learn how do people exchange knowledge through communities.

FullSizeRender 5

And like always, this is us! 😉

FullSizeRender 4

Next week Kampoong Monster will be giving a workshop on Blender Animation! See you all there! 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 5 Sept 2015 – More Encryption with Vigenere Cipher

Standard

Today we learn more about encryption!

FullSizeRender 5

We continued on Caesar Cipher encryption and decryption

FullSizeRender 4

we learned how to do brute force too 😉

Kids were given this ciphertext to be decrypted with brute force.

FullSizeRender 3

And they solved it! 😉 (with some scratching head 😀 )

FullSizeRender 7

Kids were given some examples of virus too. Just to let them know what can be done with programming. With warnings that they should use their knowledge for doing only good things. If they want to create their own virus they better make good ones 😉

Kids were also being updated about Ransomware. And how they should not ever take advantage from other people in a bad way like creating virus so they can make people pay for the anti-virus or encrypting files of other people and make them pay to get it decrypted.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-05 um 10.50.59 vorm.

Aaand, today we learned a more difficult encryption. Vigenere! Harder to attack 🙂

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-05 um 10.50.06 vorm.

And this is some sample of the encryption.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-05 um 10.55.23 nachm.

Next week we will do some coding in Minecraft! To give the kids some break after learning hard the last 4 weeks 😀
