Kids Regular Coding Class – 30 April 2016 – More projects

Hello! The class today was in Digilife Dago! 🙂
Awa came with a bike! This was before class and he was going to park the bike 😉

Lots of kids today!

And lots of thing to do!

We found out that one of the kids, a newcomer, Rezandra is actually very good in animation. He created this with Blender!

Azriel with his new ProCodeCG jacket, explaining his project plan with Farrell they named Vengeance Project 😀

We needed two laptop in front, one to display the coding and one to find some internet connection 😀

We had lots of progress too, Pru had modified her code into more interesting game with unexpected rule 😀

Awa was working on FlappyBird Project and took a break once for a while.

Cinta and Awa are in the same team with Malik in the project.

Farrell and Azriel discussing about their project. They broke down tasks to be doing and who’s gonna assigned to do it. They said they’re going to make some virus, some trojans and also some ssh programing, oh well 😀

Cinta was very excited about creating FlappyBird with Java 😉

While Clarence put some unusual and brilliant ideas to his code. He liked it a lot and played his own game over and over again.

And so did Pru! 🙂

Lots of minds doing lots of work!

Roni did very well too. He typed lots and lots of code and made it work.

The codes displayed on the screen were intended for different groups. The left one was for Reza and Rezandra who were working on adding score to their code and the right one was for Ardi who was keeping up with several object he missed.

Ardi finished all the typing job but there were several errors. We’re going to fix it next week, ok!

We had a visit from Ibu Riri Amalas Yulita – GM Customer Service Management Telkomsel and Ibu Eni -GM Operation Infomedia 🙂 Thank you so much for supporting ProCodeCG 🙂

And, Aliyah gave us a surprise. She had just came back to the class after a while and she had to catch up. She did it very well and look at her! Still doing code in a restaurant during lunch 😀

She already created a totally different games from what she did in the class before!

You should show us this game to us next week Al!!! 🙂

Coding Mum Day 7 & 8 – 29 April 2016

Working hard again today, we did day 7 and day 8 in a row! 😉

We had to move to another nice room (thanks so much Dilo Bandung), so early in the morning we did some set up

The most diligent mum, arrived very early! before 8 o’clock! 😉

Thanks to Pak Iwan from Dilo Bandung for helping us put the backdrop on the wall 🙂

Class started!

We reviewed the topic from the last class

We made some advanced HTML and CSS yesterday and we refreshed it again before we continued to the next topic.

The topic today was bootstrap 😉

We learned the hard way with HTML and CSS now with bootstrap everything is so easy 😀

The best thing about this Coding Mum is that everybody is so full of energy 🙂 The trainers are always in full performance

And so are the Mums 🙂

We worked for 6 straight hours and yet everybody was happy all the time!

6 hours of productivity

.. and teamwork

So many good energy happening in the class

Like this dedicated Mum: going through the class while babysitting the kid 🙂

Every Mum does the best and tries very hard to keep up with the class

And the trainers work very hard to help 🙂

While in the background we were also busy pulling, committing and pushing with Git 😀

And at the end of the class.. after 6 straight hours… they Mums still looked as fresh as in the morning 🙂

Coding Mum Day 5 & 6 – 28 April 2016

Today we did Day 5 and Day 6 because there will be lots of holiday next week! 😉 So the class started 9 am and ended 3 pm 🙂

Today we fix some conflicts and typos and errors from previous class

Our mission today was to add button, dropdown list and create a new and more advanced website design.

We also learned about branching in GitHub. So starting today we’re not accessing straight to the master but create our own branches.

Took some time to understand the concept of branching and the process 😉

We had to keep an eye to the branching, commit, push and pull process to fix the conflicts and prevent merging mistakes.

This kids seemed to be comfortable in the class now 🙂 He did lots of  yoga pose look like! Awesome! 😉

This going on and on for 6 hours 😀

We all successfully created a whole new website, with great designs!

Mums also learned about cools tools like Emmet etc 😉

What a great and productive day! Too bad we still don’t have the screenshot of their work from today because we haven’t merged the branches 😀 We’ll do it tomorrow 😉

And well, sh*t happens 😀 This is how you would look like if you lose your files (several .html, some .css and pics) in the process of GitHub-ing 😀 Bu Lia forgot to commit her work to GitHub and she checked out to master to fill in the attendance list so when she got back to her branch, all the works had gone! Oh wow!

HEADACHE!!! 😀

Phew what a long day!

And we’ll do it again tomorrow 😀

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #67 – Fracture and Rigid Body Dynamics

Wow! We had lots of audience today!

Kampoong Monster Studios, now Prawitra Studio gave an open workshop about Intro to Fracture and Rigid Body Dynamics today 🙂

Most of the audience are from Cimahi Creative Association (CCA) 🙂

The Technical Director of Pawitra Studio, Aditia A. Pratama was also there too 🙂

The trainer was CG Supervisor of Pawitra Studio: Bintang Senja Pratama 🙂

We’re going to upload the video on our YouTube Channel (after the editing process that might take a while 😀 )

Here we are just going to show you some of the pictures. The detailed will be in the video 😉

In workshop today we learned how to create rigid objects with physics force applied to them.

We can apply some weights, gravity force, fractions etc like the picture below.

We can also add some bouncing parameter to the objects. In this case we have a ball and a thick surface below it.

We wanted to make the ball fall right on top of the plane and break it. So we had to make both object rigid body.

We also had to set parameters for fractures

Look at those inspired audience! 🙂

When all set up, when the ball fall on top of the surface, it breaks.

Or we can add more dramatic fractures like this one

Even with more objects and different materials

We can also use particles if we want to make the ball explode from the inside.

Q & A sessions 🙂

Yeah we can make it cracked (not break apart into pieces) by putting another surface so close to the top surface.

Like usual, at the end of the session, each one of us introduce self to the others 🙂

It was raining heavily and we had to wait until it became a little bit lighter 🙂

But we didn’t mind because we can still gather and talk while waiting 😉

Coding Mum Day 4 – 25 April 2016

Day 4. And the Mums have developed bonding with each other 🙂 They took a wefie pic in the morning before class 😉

So glad to see them happy and share such positive energy 🙂 On Monday morning! 😉

If we can gather such positive energy plus the increasing coding skill from all around Indonesia, there’s nothing we cannot do as a nation! 🙂

Class started. Lights turned off each time we explained with the projector.

Pak Budi Rahardjo explaining HTML syntax we learned from previous lessons.

We to added some advanced HTML today.

Working as a team, the trainers take turn to explain in the front, preparing materials (like mas Adit does in this pic) or assisting the Mums with their works.

We got a new Mum to replace a Mum who decided to leave the class due to conflicting schedules.

Pak Budi and mas Adit working on codes to be explained, or resolving GitHub conflicts 🙂

While the other trainer was in charge to explain and show some demo on the screen.

Mas Bintang is always busy assisting Mums, plus giving the newcomer a jumpstart 🙂

They can be so cheerful but when it is time to work, they do it seriously 🙂

10 students with 3-4 trainers seems to be a great ratio.

Mums should have skills on designing UI/UX. So Pak Budi explained to them about typeface / fonts.

Mums help each other too when one of them having troubles 🙂

3 hours seems to be not enough 😀

Lots of things going on in the class. Such as babysitting 🙂

Trainers always make sure things are working.

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 23 April 2016 – Java Programming

We’re still working on Java Programming today 🙂

Some of us working on new codes and the other continue working on adding more methods to the last code.

Today Faris created a jump scare code 😀

That when the user click something on screen (a picture, or a confirmation button), it will play a scary sound and display a scary pic 😀

And the kids really use this code to prank their friends 😀

Cinta made it to the class after finishing a science competition, yeaaay!

And guess what? We had a newcomer! Rezandra 🙂 Her mom is actually in Coding Mum class, and they’re sharing the very same laptop! 🙂 How cute! 🙂

What a lovely Saturday! We gather and do awesome things with code 🙂

Faris was insisting to make the jump scare picture as big as the screen

While Cinta started to work on her Flappy Bird in Java code 🙂

Faris and Capt. Fizhan used some video editing tools to create a short sequence of scary pics! 😀

And Roni, was busy catching up with the intro to Greenfoot 🙂

See, Faris was actually using Adobe Premier to edit the jump scare video

Cinta had set the background of the FlappyWorld and ready to add more FlappyBird assets but she had something to discuss with Capt. Syahna 🙂

Rezandra is very nice and dilligent. He caught up very quickly 🙂

Reza was doing great too! Last week he couldn’t really follow the class because he didn’t have the admin password to install Greenfoot. Today he got it installed and finished all he had to do last week!

Malik has been doing his own research about this FlappyBird project and this is the picture of he is doing some debugging.

This fluid class allows kids to share ideas and learn in their own pace.

This is Capt. Fizhan and Reza working together to add some sounds to the code.

Seriously, creating FlappyBird is easier to be done with GameMaker than with Greenfoot (we actually can also do it the hard way in GameMaker by typing in codes, but in Greenfoot we do it in OOP so it is harder 😀 )

Rezandra finished up all the tasks given. Now he has a code of Turtle chasing and eating ants that moving around 🙂

Next week, there will be update about our Flappy Bird project! 😉

Coding Mum Day 3 – 22 April 2016

Day 3! Fresh looks in the morning! 😉 We’re ready to code!

Yesterday we learned HTML and GitHub, so today we picked up where we left and each Mum create one folder in GitHub to store their index.html 🙂

Each Mum started to design their own website, using design references from the internet and basic HTML they had already learnt before.

Some having problems with committing changes and syncing to GitHub but we finally resolved all the conflicts.

This one said that she was hungry but couldn’t stop coding LOl

This one couldn’t stop too. We have a bunch of hardworking Mum ready to rock the world with their codes!!!

The little kid started to feel comfortable in the class 😀 We bet he’ll do coding too sooner or later! 😉

Coding Mum Day 2 – 21 April 2016

Day 2!

Setting up the class (arranging tables and chairs, adding more tables, preparing the slides, etc.)

Today we learned using Brackets to type in HTML

And our little coder wasn’t feeling ok, so he was just napping 🙂

One mum didn’t come because she had to take care of the children

Things seemed to get more heavier today 😀

We added more lessons on Git, GitHub and GitHub for Desktop.

We continued working on the sequence of cloning, editing and committing change to GitHub

Lots of GitHub update conflicts did happen during the class, but we managed to resolve it

This mum was very busy making her kid busy 😀

Coding Mum Day 1 – 18 April 2016

Coding Mum Day #1! 🙂

Preparation for snack and lunch had been started early 🙂

Some Mums had showed up, waiting for more to come.

While the trainers preparing stuff for teaching: projectors, connectors, extensions cables, etc.

Thanks to Dilo for providing everything needed! We needed some time to set things up but all is there and works well!

Mums started to study their handbook and fill the attendance list.

The started getting to know each other, admitting that they were very nervous and unfamiliar with coding 😉

Ok now we can connect to the projector

We had to take turns for loading the page 😀

Some computers were acting up by being so slow 😀

But at the end every Mum can finish their task 🙂

And while the Mom was coding, the kid was drawing 😉 So cute!

And there must always be someone in front to show some examples and give instructions

After all Mums successfully created GitHub account, we created a README file and modified it together

So the Mums learned how to fork, pull, edit and commit a file in GitHub

This is the file in the process 😀

It is very touching to see the willingness of a Mum to learn, while also taking care of the kid 🙂 Hope that this training will help Mums to be more productive while be able to work around the kids more 🙂
