Day #2 of Creating Apps Coding Camp 🙂

Faiz is still as productive as yesterday 🙂

He continued the Calculator Apps and made it work

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Open Topics – 21 Oct 2017

Our open topics kids coding class 🙂

Altair had just attended one session of GameMaker and this is the progress when he came back to the next class 🙂

He added more features to the game

plus lots of sprites, objects and background and rooms 🙂

He added levels with different challenges on every levels 😉

And he started to create the next game: Racing Car 🙂

Capt. Azriel helped Al to resize the background

Altair’s little brother joined in 😀

He wanted to play and typing something on the laptop and Altair was very busy keeping him away from the laptop 😀

Ain had created lots of apps with Thunkable but his laptop has problems with connecting to internet so while he waited he opened GameMaker and improved his game 🙂

We used different laptop to log in to Ain’s Thunkable account and these are some of what Ain’s had created: guessing odd or even number app

Capt. Faris was still busy with his research: was given a new task with TensorFlow 😉

Clarence was back! This time he wanted to install C++ compiler and started coding in C++

Clarence apparently had so many things in his head to be coded in C++ 🙂

And we had a newcomer: Brillian 🙂

Brillian had to go through Intro to Programming

First, he had to finished Minecraft Hour of Code

and got the certificate

and then he learned about functions with LightBot

And more logics with some Python using CodeCombat 🙂 In the next class Brillian will learn more with Blockly Games or go straight to game making 🙂

Nanin! Forgot to save her work :(( So she had to started all over againnnn NOOOOO

Nanin had to browse through the download folder to find all the pictures of the animals

and recreated everything

And then Nanin and Mom discussed the project to be presented to the next exhibition

She looked so excited 🙂 We’ll see what app Nanin will create next week 🙂

Vian is getting better each week 🙂

He created more advanced games and keep adding more features

The game looked really fun 🙂

And Vian got the best tutor: Ain (wearing black hat)

And the best way to test a game is by playing it, together 🙂

Azriel made lots of progress too 🙂

He started to code in JavaScript to build things in Minecraft

Starting with simple shapes and structures like triangle and stairs

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Open Topics – 14 Oct 2017

Our open topic class this Saturday 🙂

Our newcomer, Ioan 🙂 Ioan joined our mid-year coding camp and now joining regular class 🙂 Welcome Ioan 🙂

Capt. Azriel was assigned to assist Ioan

Ioan reopened his last GameMaker projects and re-learned how to create games 🙂

He had learnt to create Agario too 🙂

He looked happy to be back 🙂

Ioan added new sprites and adding more features to his games

Welcome back Nanin (after a few weeks) 🙂

Nanin was determined to finish her game from the last class

The game is to pick out which one is a pet animal

Nanin spent lots of time to choose pictures and edit them

The game is quite interesting: you will get score and move to the next level when you choose the right picture, and will go back to previous level if you pick the wrong one 🙂

That’s why Nanin had lots of objects and rooms for levels 🙂 Lots of work 🙂

Adin (left) started to learn GameMaker, and Captain on duty for GameMaker was Captain Azriel (right)

starting with creating sprites

then Adin created his first game 🙂

he added more rooms with different levels of difficulty

Then Adin was given the next task to create another game: Race Car 🙂

Ain (left) had finished all the homework of creating apps with Thunkable

So he was given another challenge

He created an app to convert from text to voice, and he had to add a button to clear the textfield and he did 🙂

Ain and Capt. Faris then added more languages

Vian created a new game, fully improved with lots of new techniques, thanks to Ain 🙂

Vian got lots of ideas and feedback from Ain and Capt. Faris yaaay, what could be more fun than creating games as a team 😉

Tyo was ready for a new project: modifying a chat app in Java 🙂

First we made sure the server and client work

And the we decided to add some encryption to the text, and will be decrypted when it is accepted

got some errors after adding decryption, but later Capt. Faris solved it

Adit continued his Intro to Programming lessons from Blockly Games

He was doing well with Puzzle and Maze

And then moved on to Bird

Had reached level 6 and will continue it next week 🙂

Sabrina continued her lesson in Web Programming

She learned more complicated design with more difficult layout

She had to go through lots of lines and debugging became a lot harder 🙂

Jundy had several projects in Java running

This one is a program to guess someone’s birthday using some algorithm

Jundy likes to discuss his work with Faris 🙂

He showed us how to modify some files encrypted from XBox 🙂

While on the other side of the room, Ain’s mom did an awesome activity 🙂

Very neat! 🙂

This tool has never seen in the class before 🙂

Another different activity in the class: captain discussions about writing 😀

Will be reporting more interesting things happening in our class next week! 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Open Topics – 22 July 2017

Whoaaa, got lots of things going on in our open topics class yesterday 🙂

Nico was learning GameMaker and tutored by Capt. Azriel and Capt. Faris 🙂 He created Flappy Bird dan Break Out Game 🙂

Dika created a Tilting Game for Android 🙂

There was some errors and Dika was hungry so he decided to eat first 🙂

Capt. Faris, while on duty he also did some research and exploration like usual 🙂

Faris likes challenges 🙂

He does CodeFights very often 🙂

Cinta still exploring about what to present on exhibition: hardware or software 🙂

Capt. Malik started to explore C 🙂

We’re planning to teach kids Artificial Intelligence in C 🙂 This is going to be useful for Malik’s ongoing projects 🙂

Malik installed CodeBlocks for C IDE

but it was so laggy we’re going to switch to CodeLite

Vian created a totally new games with animation 😉 Capt. Cinta helped too 🙂

Koosha demonstrated how to do things we did with Scriptcraft with command block 🙂

Jundy had many ideas and things to do 🙂

but J was given a task to port what he created in Scriptcraft to command blocks

and so did Gyan 🙂

Tyo knows exactly what he’s going to present on Exhibition and he’s working seriously on it 😉

Capt. Faris helped us with some important syntaxes

And now it worked fine 🙂 Now it’s only finishing 🙂

Emma is a very focus programming. She just won’t stop 🙂

We’re opening a new topic: C programming for AI, for her 🙂

She’s also the only one in class using Linux 😉 So cool 🙂 Emma was given things to do at home because she had finished the handout 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – 15 July 2017

Our kids regular coding class yesterday 🙂

Faris, another Captain showed us how to use IntelliJ IDE to write codes 🙂

Faris created a multiplayer TicTacToe, each player connect to the same IP

And they can play as if they’re sharing the same piece of paper like this 🙂

While Rezky catching up very fast with the ESPectro 🙂 He learned how to turn on all NeoPixel with different colors

And how to refer to each of NeoPixel to assign different colors 🙂

He also learned and modify the traffic light with pedestrian button 🙂

Rezky continued his game with GameMaker after ESPectro session ends 🙂 He’s going to create a FlappyBird-like game next week 🙂

And we had newcomers: Sabrina and his little brother Azriel 🙂

They’re given Intro to Programming to see their what things in programming interest them most 🙂

They worked in team to solve problems 🙂

And Faris, while on duty, working on many things 😀 He likes to explore things

He created this Agario game with JavaScript

He also did some coding challenges 🙂

… with J giving suggestions 🙂

J had several things to do in the class, first he wanted to redo the hardest level of Blockly Games to check his programming skill level now 🙂

J showed his designs using this software. He designed a house and the furnitures 🙂

Cinta was working on her metric conversion apps

.. and of course: lots of things in Minecraft 🙂

While Koosha, demoing the result of his research: how to set permission on Minecraft Server 🙂

This is very helpful for administering the Minecraft Server for multiplayers, because kids tend to change the mode from creative to survival and start to kill other players instead of building things once they’re in the same world 😀

The setting is saved in a file named permissions.yml under the folder Spigot/plugins/PermissionsEx/permissions.yml 🙂

Going to learn more things next week, we’re going to start new topics: C Programming and Web Programming 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Open Topics yesterday 🙂

Cinta got new ideas for her apps, and ready to start a new one 🙂

She also started to learn Red Stone in Minecraft

And so excited to create things with switches and logic gates in Minecraft 😉

Vian had his own project in Minecraft too

He was finding ways to create counter in Minecraft 🙂

Vian uses Red Stone component to create counter to light up each block alternately

Faris was really busy yesterday

Helping other kids

Demoing some stuff on the screen 🙂

Faris showed how to use mcEdit to reverse engineer stuff in Minecraft

because we were researching how to create counter in Minecraft by examining the existing ones 🙂

It took the whole class to figure out how the counter works 🙂 Jundy and Faris modified the circuit to see what happen

They discuss about how it worked and trying to figure out how to make it simpler

Yes, this what this class is all about: teamwork and fun 🙂

Faris also learned about Git and GitHub

We taught him to create repository, clone, pull, add, commit, push, etc via command prompt

He later learned about forking and branching 🙂

Gyan continued his code in Minecraft and also creating some stuff with RedStone

Dika prepared himself to continue his apps but too bad no progress to show yesterday

Welcome back Fadhil (and little brother 🙂 )

Fadhil wanted to learn creating apps yesterday, and this is his first 🙂

While Rezky started to learn creating games with GameMaker, coached by Capt. Zaki 😉

Rezky will continue his game next week, can’t wait to see the progress 🙂

And there was a little girl, Nadine who was interested in joining the class 🙂 Capt. Faris showed her some cool stuff! 🙂

Hello! Reporting some progress from our open topics regular coding class yesterday 🙂

Vian was getting ready to create more things in Minecraft 🙂

Vian was creating a locked room that can only be entered if we use the correct password

We have to find the code and then set every switch accordingly

Vian created the security mechanism using Red Stone 🙂

Clarence created lots of Minecraft Tutorial videos 🙂

He created lots of difficult stuff in Minecraft 🙂 Like this seven-segment like glowing stone to display numbers 🙂

Clarence helped Vian on Minecraft 🙂

These to always had things to discuss about 🙂

Cinta had lots of idea 🙂

She even made some sketches and design 🙂

Cinta had an idea to improve the apps she created last week 🙂

Cinta also wanted to learn some Java 🙂

the code is to send a “meow” sound to other players but Gyan had problem signing in to the Spigot Server. He said he will try again at home 🙂

Tyo was working on a Tic Tac Toe Game

while also improving his Attendance List App in Java

We still have to add codes to clear checkbox to the code 🙂

Hello! First day of Ramadhan and kids are still on top performance in coding 🙂
