ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – 7 Dec 2019

Weekend is time to do what we like 🙂 Our thing to do on Saturday is doing coding and research 🙂

Capt. Faris is creating a chatting app that has already been used to help the learning process at his school 🙂

the app accessed from an iOS device

it can also detect bad words 😀

Syadad is doing a very interesting machine learning project today 🙂

it is to guess which door leads to a room without zombie 🙂

the next project is to predict whether someone will survive a Titanic crash or not, based on recorded data

Al is working on the same project as Syadad’s

after choosing from several alternatives, Al chose the Zombie Project 🙂

Fadhlan is doing a research about the motor driver for SNAPBOT 3

Kibie’s task today is to explore Blockly Games

Capt. Awa helped Kibie to go through some levels

Techa was given 7 minutes before the class started 😀

and then he had to continue creating the game 🙂

Techa’s Shooting Game is now has all required features. Next week Techa will create BreakOut Game and then Space Invaders Game 🙂

Vey’s project today is measuring height with Arduino 🙂

yes, it worked! *Capt. Awa helped to download the libraries and display the result to the LCD

and then Vey continue working on his game 🙂

Sam had finished the Juz Amma and Object Recognition App so he’s ready for a new project. Sam did some research and decided to create a Panic Button App 🙂

Badi is going to create a simple electronics wiring today, and he looks super excited 😀

It is 50% ready 🙂 Boy still has to add more assets and codes into the game

Mika’s project today is humidity and temperature sensor

the weird thing is the Arduino Board wouldn’t compile and if it did, it won’t recognize the usb port, so we still haven’t yet succeed to see the sensor readings. We have changed the Arduino and also the cables but still not working. Going to figure it out next week

Cean is doing some web programming again today 🙂

we’re coding to add some code to make those buttons work 🙂

Syathir is still working on his shooting game, and the next class he will be ready to create BreakOut Game 🙂

Fab finally solved the problem in his game

but when he added another sprite, the game start malfunctioning. We’re still figuring this out

Yogi wants to add lap counter into the Race Car Game, which is a BRILLIANT idea 🙂

so the idea is to create an object that will be hit each time the car run through the finish line, and display the counter

Yogi is still working on it, we’ll see the progress in the next class 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Arduino/ESPectro Programming – 4 Nov 2017

Hello Saturday 🙂 Always looking forward to see kids coding in our class 🙂

Morning prep 🙂

Ozan continued working on adding buzzer to his ultrasonic counter

Ozan had to check simple buzzer code to be added to the new code

Took a lot of effort because the same problem occur: the ultrasonic counter doesn’t work with buzzer added

Nafis was back 😀 He’s doing the same project as Ozan and Reza

And Nafis agree to start it all over again and add the components one by one, using ESPectro 🙂

Reza helped to make Nafis’ work

And after the ESPectro shut down for several times due to wrong polarity, it finally worked 😀 but not yet with buzzer and LED 🙂

The most mysterious thing is that Reza’s wouldn’t work

It took Reza hours to debug

He changes the components to find the problem

Still didn’t work, so we decide to take Ozan’s to be tested on Reza’s code

And yes it worked 😀 So we combined Reza’s code with Ozan’s board and it worked well 😀

We’re still curious to find out why Reza’s didn’t work (but at least he has a code that worked well). Reza is a very persistence kid. Won’t stop until it’s done 🙂 Now to buzzer will beep when the count reaches 20 🙂

Next week we will add LED to it 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – ESPectro Programming – 5 Aug 2017

Hello! This is our regular thing on Saturdays 🙂

Vian surprisingly told us he wants to learn Arduino/ESPectro Programming instead of GameMaker and Minecraft 🙂

He learned to make an LED blinking 😉

and then 2 LEDs

and then 3 LEDs

and then because we’re out of breadboards then Vian learned how to make RGB LED works 🙂

Rezky got a new LCD I2C and ready to test it

Yea it worked 🙂

Rezky learned to create some simple custom char

and also lots of sets of custom chars 🙂

So did Ruben, he had just got a new LCD I2C

he did the wiring and prepare to test it 🙂

while we’re installing some libraries, he drew 🙂 amazing 🙂

or put everything inside his toolbox on a breadboard 😀

or lay down for a while 😀

ok Uben, the library is ready, let’s compile 😉 Yes it works! 🙂

Ruben learned how to display text on the LCD

and also how to put a smile on it 🙂

then given the task to put a sad face 😉

Ozan was really busy making an ultrasonic sensor work 😉

and finally it worked 🙂

The LCD is showing the number it is counting *it was dimmed because we use 3,3V instead of 5V (the 5V is used to power the ultrasonic sensor)

Yaaay, awesome work Ozaaaaan 😉

Nadine wanted to learn Arduino/ESPectro programming too 🙂 Capt. Faris helped her to get started 🙂

Nadine is very interested to learn about components and devboard 🙂

She learned how to make a LED blinking (just like Vian)

and then learned to blink more LEDs 😉

and also RGB LED 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Arduino Programming – 5 Nov 2016

Hello! Glad to be back 🙂 Yesterday we learned to create traffic light with pedestrian crossing with LED, button and Arduino 😉

Kids who arrived early 🙂

More kids showed up, including kids that are supposed to join the next class 😀 They just couldn’t wait so they came earlier 🙂

For us, this is how we relax on Saturdays 🙂

And by making friends too 🙂

We often need more than one screen because we do different things in class. Rezandra had to use two laptop to see the handout because the rest of the class still need the big screen to show the schematic 🙂

The schematic required lots of wires and LED. Plus patience to pay attention to details 😀

Each kids has different pace and passion

In ProCodeCG Classes we always find ways to accommodate it

We also apply peer-learning. Kids who know better than the others should share things they know or teach their friends 🙂

Some kids who don’t really like to teach can be told to do something and let friends watching. They are probably to shy to talk but they got awesome things to share!

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Arduino & ESPectro Programming – 22 Oct 2016

Hello! Today we will explore RGB LED by entering string to serial monitor to set the color of the led 🙂

Before the class started, Awa showed his now-working-LCD 😀 hello! 😉

Very few kids in the morning but more will show up 🙂

Kids are kids. They play everywhere 😀

We often have to split the screen that shows the upper part of the code on one half-side of the screen and the other to show the lower part of the code because the kids have different typing speed 🙂

Sometimes the schematic looks ok but doesn’t work. Today we found out that there were LOTS of dead RGB LED.

The possibility is endless! 🙂 These things really ignite kids creativity 🙂

Ozan had to type the original RGB LED code and make sure it worked before he could continue the string to serial monitor RGB LED.

Rezandra is always so dedicated and serious 🙂

Darrell forgot to bring his kit but luckily Awa has 2 arduino board plus cables too so Awa lend it to Darrell 🙂 We had spare breadboards, wires and resistors and RGB LED so all was good 🙂

Clarence was figuring out how to connect sensor to LCD module with so limited port 😀

Areli had to type in the original RGB LED code too before moving on the next one 🙂

Malik gave ESPectro Core and Base a try 🙂

And this month ProCodeCG is 2 years old! One of the parents brought us a birthday cake! Yaay thanks!!! 🙂
