ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Arduino & ESPectro Programming – 22 Oct 2016

Standard

Hello! Today we will explore RGB LED by entering string to serial monitor to set the color of the led πŸ™‚

IMG_4880

Before the class started, Awa showed his now-working-LCD πŸ˜€ hello! πŸ˜‰

IMG_4881

Very few kids in the morning but more will show up πŸ™‚
IMG_4882

The schematic and the code

IMG_4884

Clarence helped his sister Pru to set up her work
IMG_4885

Zahran and Ren

IMG_4886
IMG_4887

The happiest always: Awa πŸ™‚

IMG_4888

The messy desk and all stuff LOL
IMG_4889

Kids are kids. They play everywhere πŸ˜€

IMG_4891

We often have to split the screen that shows the upper part of the code on one half-side of the screen and the other to show the lower part of the code because the kids have different typing speed πŸ™‚
IMG_4892

Sometimes the schematic looks ok but doesn’t work. Today we found out that there were LOTS of dead RGB LED.

IMG_4894

Malik demonstrates potentiometer to control a microservo πŸ™‚ Nice!
IMG_4895

The possibility is endless! πŸ™‚ These things really ignite kids creativity πŸ™‚

IMG_4896

Reza at work
IMG_4897

Ozan had to type the original RGB LED code and make sure it worked before he couldΒ continue the string to serial monitor RGB LED.

IMG_4898

Rezandra is always so dedicated and serious πŸ™‚
IMG_4899

Darrell forgot to bring his kit but luckily Awa has 2 arduino board plus cables too so Awa lend it to Darrell πŸ™‚ We had spare breadboards, wires and resistors and RGB LED so all was good πŸ™‚

IMG_4900

Clarence was figuring out how to connect sensor to LCD module with so limited port πŸ˜€
IMG_4901

Areli had to type in the original RGB LED code too before moving on the next one πŸ™‚

IMG_4902

Malik gave ESPectro Core and Base a try πŸ™‚
IMG_4903

And this month ProCodeCG is 2 years old! One of the parents brought us a birthday cake! Yaay thanks!!! πŸ™‚

IMG_4904
IMG_4906

Come on kids lets sing and take a picture and then eat the cake! And the kids just sit still busy with their computers and breadboards LOL
IMG_4911

Happy Birthday ProCodeCG! May you will always be able to contribute good things to the community, to the people and to the nation πŸ™‚

IMG_4912

Let’s grow together and make awesome things, kids!!!
IMG_4917

ProCodeCG is so proud to be able to educate these amazing kids! And we would like to say thanks to parents for supporting us πŸ™‚
IMG_4920

See you on our next birthday and see what happens! πŸ˜‰

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Arduino Class – 17 Sep 2016

Standard

Hello Indonesia, every Saturday Indonesian kids learn about IT and programming so they will be able to cope with the challenges in the future and make Indonesia proud πŸ˜‰

IMG_2518

In our Arduino Class yesterday we continue our Arduino lessons and learning some functions πŸ™‚

IMG_2519

Muhammad (in front) and Reza (behind) were setting up their kit to continue their work. In the corner is the helpful Mom of Renald πŸ™‚
IMG_2521

Aliyah is the only girl in the class πŸ˜‰ She is always very quiet but she always get things done πŸ™‚ She never complains typing lots of lines of codes πŸ˜‰

IMG_2522

Azriel, was busy with his LED, resistors and jumper wires. He said he made almost all of his resistors curly so apparently we have to shop for more resistors LOL πŸ˜€
IMG_2523

Areli complained about having to create the same layout on his breadboard again but he finally did it πŸ˜€ the wiring was the same but we were learning different code πŸ˜‰

IMG_2524

Hello Darrell! You have to type some code on the screen πŸ™‚ Lots of line but believe us it’s gonna worth it πŸ˜‰
IMG_2525

Rezandra was on his new project: making his sound sensor work πŸ˜‰

IMG_2527

He just wouldn’t stop until it worked! πŸ˜€

IMG_2537

Newcomers! Ozan and Tristan started to unbox their ProCodeCG Arduino Kits and learn with us πŸ˜‰
IMG_2528

Tristan had just registered and start to join both classes yesterday πŸ™‚

IMG_2529

Ozan started a bit ahead yesterday, he had downloaded the software and plugged the Arduino in πŸ™‚
IMG_2530

Clarence! He was working on his chicken coop temperature and humidity control project πŸ™‚ (and yes, he didn’t like us taking his pic :D)

IMG_2531

Zahran examined his board very carefully because it wasn’t working since last week (later we found out that his computer had some problem with the driver)
IMG_2532

Ren had finished ALL the task in handout (we should update it very soon! πŸ˜€ ) Well done Ren! You are so fast! πŸ™‚

IMG_2533

Ren’s alternate blinking LED

IMG_2536

Ren’s Knight Rider’s LED πŸ˜‰

IMG_2545

Malik had successfully made ultrasonic sensor work. Yesterday he tried temperature and humidity sensor, but still didn’t work.
IMG_2534

IMG_2538

Reza forgot to bring his Arduino Kits, oh nooooo (he had to wait for his father to deliver it for him)

IMG_2535

While we were waiting for another ProCodeCG Arduino Kits to be shipped via Gojek πŸ˜€ Tristan and Ozan had to share one kit together. Which was good so they could leard to do teamworking πŸ™‚

IMG_2539

Ozan got his LED on breadboard blinked. Then it was Tristan’s turn.

IMG_2540

ProCodeCG class is always full of inspirations and bright minds πŸ˜‰ This is Ren’s Mom helping Aliyah with her computer. Apparently for some Windows versions, there are problems with Arduino driver and compiler (we’re going to release some troubleshooting handout very soon πŸ˜‰ )

IMG_2541

Muhammad had problems too and he worked really hard, solving every error occured

IMG_2542

And finally it worked! (what with that face though? LOL)

IMG_2549

And finally Rezandra had his sound sensor worked!
IMG_2552

With the help of another parent, Pak Slamet, thanks pak! πŸ™‚

IMG_2553

There were some adjustment need to be made like the threshold of sensitivity and so on.
IMG_2554

Wow, it’s not only ProCodeCG Kids that are so cool, the parents too! πŸ˜‰

IMG_0127

IMG_0130

And now it works! Yay!

IMG_0129

Cinta was very excited about this
IMG_0131

She found interesting examples on the internet

IMG_0137

And decided to make one by herself

IMG_0138

She said she will do it at home. Okay Cinta we will check up on you on the next class!!!

IMG_0139

Areli caught up very fast. He said he had watched some tutorials so he knew what he was doing πŸ˜€ okay Areli keep up the good work! πŸ˜‰
