The last day of % Days Kids Coding Crash Course on Intro to Programming and Creating Games 🙂

At this stage, Ghazaska has learned skills to improve his game

He keeps adding more features

And make improvements, including to the graphics of the sprites

The game now have lots of levels

that offers unexpected challenges 😀

It takes some daydreaming to start a new game 🙂 *it is hard sometimes to move on from one creation to another 😀

The next one is BreakOut Game

And Ghazaska doesn’t want anything on his game to look similar to the original game 😀

The game looks so interesting 😀

It’s amazing how creative kids can be if we give them the skill and some space to improvise 🙂

Now you can explore many things with what you have learned in 5 days Ghazaska 🙂 See you again 🙂

ProCodeCG – 5 Days Kids Coding Crash Course – Day #4 – 21 Aug 2017

The fourth day! 🙂 We add more things to the maze game *in coding/game making, once you start you cannot stop 😀

Ghazaska keeps adding levels

and details, and complexity 😀

When he gets tired, he will walk around the room to loosen up the muscles 😀

And then started to create a new game 🙂 In this game we will learn different techniques

like following objects and set up the horizontal and vertical borders because the background is moving

This is supposed to be a race, so we’re going to need another dolphin to start it 😉

We’re going to create another game on the next lesson 😉

Today we learn to create a simple game with GameMaker 🙂 We created our own sprites and set up our own rules 😉

5 Days Kids Coding Crash Course – Day #1 🙂

Today we learn with Minecraft Hour of Code for warming up 🙂

We’ve learned about sequences, looping and conditionals 🙂

Lots of levels to do today, but we finished it all, we left only the last one to be reviewed again next class 😉

ProCodeCG Family Coding Crash Course Day #5 – 25 Nov 2016

Wow the last day already :((

We had lunch before starting the class 🙂

The we picked were we left yesterday

Sadid decided to learn HTML and CSS today (he was learning Java for the last two days), while Razin decided to learn Java (he was learning HTML CSS for the last to days) 😀

So that these two can discuss about their works and help each other 😉

They made jokes too while learning 🙂

It is ok as long as they’re learning happily 😉

Azza was progressing very fast with her Azza’s Bakery web design 🙂 She uses lots of tricks in HTML and CSS 🙂

Sadid did the catching up very well too

So did Razin, he finished his Java Intro from Code Academy and start learning from ProCodeCG Java Programming Handout 🙂

And successfully compiled the button code 🙂 He also did the login window too, and very happy about it!

Too bad the class ended today, but we still can learn anytime don’t worry!

We’re going to open the next class with different topics 🙂 Thanks all, so proud and honored to be able to share things with you 🙂

ProCodeCG Family Coding Crash Course Day #4 – 24 Nov 2016

Hello! Today we got newcomers 🙂

While the newcomers start catching up, Razin continued developing his website he started yesterday

And Sadid continue his Java lessons, working on more difficult code 🙂

Azza catching up very quickly 🙂

She created two files: .html and .css in no time

And she was doing the same thing as Razin 🙂

Bu Dita was also working on HTML and CSS. She had learned so basics before so she had no problem in catching up too 🙂

Razin got lots of idea for his website but sometimes it need some tricks

Like different browsers will respond differently, or different video encoding would not show up 🙂

Sadid took a break for having meals

and so proud and happy to compile this code successfully on the first try 😀

Meanwhile, Azza was developing her own website very quickly

And Razin too

Bu Dita was also progressing and almost finished the whole chapter

Then Sadid changed the mood and wanted to try his new ProCodeCG LED Module with Arduino 🙂

He ran the LED meter code and it worked 🙂 Nice!

While Azza had almost finished her website! Wonderful design! 🙂

We have lots of ideas to be done tomorrow 🙂 See you then 🙂

ProCodeCG Family Coding Crash Course Day #3 – 23 Nov 2016

Day #3! Lunch before the class started 🙂

Today each kid want to learn different things 🙂

Which was ok because ProCodeCG classes and curriculum is made to be able to accommodate different topics and different pace in the class 🙂

Sadid wanted to learn Java Programming

while Razin wanted to learn Web Programming 🙂

And they liked what they chose to learn 😉

Sadid learn Java syntax, variables, operators etc.

While Razin learned HTML and CSS 🙂

They learned different things but enjoyed it together 😉

After learning the basic syntax, variables and operators, Sadid started to write his own code in Java

Hello world in Java 🙂

And compiled it

and worked 😉

While Razin had successfully created his own .html and .css file to create his very first website 😉

Both had reached the target for today 🙂

We’re going to do more things tomorrow 😉

ProCodeCG Family Coding Crash Course Day #2 – 22 Nov 2016

Day 2 🙂 We continued our Arduino lessons 🙂

We started to use button to activate other components. This one will activate the LED onboard

Razin and Sadid loved doing this 🙂

Sadid’s worked but Razin didn’t so the big brother offered some help 🙂

Then we added a LED

Then two LEDs. The button will be used to activate each LED depends on how fast you click it.

Then we learned to use buzzer! Yaaaay we heard some sounds coming 🙂

Next: RGB LED 😉

The kids loved how the LED changing color 😉 They said it was so beautiful the won’t remove the components from the breadboard 😀

And the last lesson today is to create an alarm using ultrasonic sensor and a buzzer 😉

We’ve learned so much! 🙂 And more tomorrow! 😉

ProCodeCG Family Coding Crash Course Day #1 – 21 Nov 2016

Today we started the first day of Family Coding Crash Course on Arduino 🙂 These are Sadid and Razin, they are brothers and they are so interested in coding 🙂

On the left, Pak Bullit Sesariza (the uncle, who are an expert in programming) and on the right is Pak Budi Rahardjo, one of the mentor of today 🙂

The course will be from Mon – Fri. We only had these two for Monday and Tuesday but their mom and aunt will join us on Wednesday and Thursday.

The first thing to do was to download and install the latest version of Arduino Software 🙂

Then we do the Blink test to on board Arduino LED.

We learned about breadboard, resistor (and how to calculate the value) and  LED, and then we connected Arduino to a breadboard with LED an resistor and made it blink 🙂

Then we add more LEDs and resistors 🙂

It was supposed to be 8 LED but the breadboard was too small, only 4 LEDs fit 🙂

After Sadid and Razin got the LEDs blinking (in one way and many ways), we use a LED module

ProCodeCG LED, which is a hassle-free way to play with LED (without having to deal with those jumpers and resistors LOL)

The previous code uploaded to Arduino worked right away (notice that only 4 LEDs activated :))

We had a great time

3 hours flew very fast 😀 It wasn’t enough 🙂

We will learn how to use button and RGB LED tomorrow 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Crash Course on Intro to Programming Day 2

Day 2! Today we do real coding with Python after learning some Python syntax from CodeCombat yesterday 🙂

We had a new kid, so we split the class into two threads: some of them continuing yesterday’s lessons while some others start installing Python IDLE and typed in some code 🙂

The culture of each ProCodeCG’s class is that each kid should help each other. Gyan was helping Dika with one level Dika couldn’t finish, while Kakang (sitting next to Dika) starting from Level 1 but he caught up very fast!

Aiko and Tian started working on Python codes

And Aya was still working on finishing her levels on CodeCombat

These kids are very cheerful and loud! But when they have to work, the sit tightly and being serious 🙂

… and sometimes mock each other LOL

We learned about looping with for and while 🙂

Next we learned about functions. We use LightBot to introduce the concept of functions to the kids 🙂

It really made the kids thinking hard 🙂

Another good gesture of helping from Kakang. He helped Aya with the level she stuck on.

Well, that’s the report for today! Tomorrow we will do real coding again in Python 🙂
