Coding Mum Day 2 – 21 April 2016

Day 2!

Setting up the class (arranging tables and chairs, adding more tables, preparing the slides, etc.)

Still a few had arrived

Trainers briefing before class

Today we learned using Brackets to type in HTML

And our little coder wasn’t feeling ok, so he was just napping 🙂

One mum didn’t come because she had to take care of the children

Things seemed to get more heavier today 😀

We added more lessons on Git, GitHub and GitHub for Desktop.

We continued working on the sequence of cloning, editing and committing change to GitHub

Lots of GitHub update conflicts did happen during the class, but we managed to resolve it

This mum was very busy making her kid busy 😀

And we also did finished the Make a Website Lesson on codeacademy.com

We created a team on GitHub

so that we can experimenting with files and folders 😉

More headaches detected today…

…so we probably should provide some aspirins the next day LOL

We finally finished doing lesson #2 today!

Looking good after the class! 😉

This one insisted to stay in the class to catch up 😀

Coding Mum Day 1 – 18 April 2016

Coding Mum Day #1! 🙂

Preparation for snack and lunch had been started early 🙂

Some Mums had showed up, waiting for more to come.

While the trainers preparing stuff for teaching: projectors, connectors, extensions cables, etc.

Thanks to Dilo for providing everything needed! We needed some time to set things up but all is there and works well!

Mums started to study their handbook and fill the attendance list.

The started getting to know each other, admitting that they were very nervous and unfamiliar with coding 😉

Ok now we can connect to the projector

And we ready to open the class

These are Mas Saeful Rahman from 7-Eleven, Pak Toar Ramses Emil Mangaribi from Bekraf and Mba Assry from Dilo

And this is Mas Endra from Bekraf and a bunch of photographers 😀

Pak Toar Ramses Emil Mangaribi, Kasubdit Sub Sektor Edukasi Ekonomi Kreatif also gave some speech before the class started

The next was Mba Assry, Manager of Dilo Bandung, giving a warm welcome to all the participants and guests 🙂

We also had a little coder today 😉

An opening intro from Founder and CEO ProCodeCG, Marisa Paryasto 🙂

Followed by Pak Budi Rahardjo as ProCodeCG Mentor 🙂 We gave a slot for Pak Budi as an icebreaking 🙂

Mums can catch up with things and seemed to be very enthusiastic 🙂

Pak Budi also helped running the class

Several problems occurred, mostly internet connection 🙂

We had to take turns for loading the page 😀

Some computers were acting up by being so slow 😀

But at the end every Mum can finish their task 🙂

And while the Mom was coding, the kid was drawing 😉 So cute!

Trainers took turns to solve problems

And there must always be someone in front to show some examples and give instructions

After all Mums successfully created GitHub account, we created a README file and modified it together

So the Mums learned how to fork, pull, edit and commit a file in GitHub

This is the file in the process 😀

It is very touching to see the willingness of a Mum to learn, while also taking care of the kid 🙂 Hope that this training will help Mums to be more productive while be able to work around the kids more 🙂

Coding Mum Briefing and Preparation 17 March 2016

Today ProCodeCG, Bekraf and 7-Eleven held a meeting for briefing and prepation for Coding Mum Bandung that will be started tomorrow!

The meeting was held in Dilo Bandung

We were discussing about administration stuff, schedule and numerous details.

We were waiting for more people to come so while we were waiting we got to know each other and took some pics 😉 Mba Ellen and Mas Saeful from 7-Eleven were discussing about uploading files to Google Docs and kindly gave us the greatest smile! 😉

These are Mas Endra and Mba Wuri from BEKRAF. Sitting next to Mba Wuri is Pak Bullitt, the coordinator of Dilo who was in charge to give us briefing about Coding Mum Curriculum.

Mba Assry, Dilo Bandung Coordinator and Mas Bintang Senja, trainer of Coding Mum were also in the meeting.

All are set up. Handouts. X-Banners. Tools. Schedule. Internet connection. Food for snacks and lunch. Class. Table. Chairs. Projector. Extension Cables.

Then we started to talk about the Why-How-What of Coding Mum.

The room for tomorrow is already set up!
