Standard

Today ProCodeCG was invited to join a homeschooling activity held by one of ProCodeCG parent, Mrs. Ari Novianti Riadi, Azriel’s Mom πŸ™‚

She has a homeschooling community that always make interesting activities for their kids. Today, at her nice and cozy house, we learned about tea blending and intro to computer programming πŸ™‚

IMG_8032

We were expecting about 10 kids to come

IMG_8033

Most of them have siblings, the older ones learn programming, while the younger ones playing in the garden πŸ™‚

IMG_8034

This is the preparation for how-to-blend-tea class by Azriel πŸ™‚

IMG_8035

Awesome kitchen!

IMG_8036 2

It is so impressive to see that the kids are willing to learn anything! πŸ™‚

IMG_8037 IMG_8038

After all the computer set up, we started the coding class right after the tea-blending class πŸ™‚ What a productive day! πŸ™‚

IMG_8047

The coding class went very well, kids can follow the lessons (Hassan was doing 2 threads at once: Minecraft One Hour of Code and CodeCombat πŸ˜€ )

IMG_8048

Muhammad assisted Ayeman closely because Ayeman seemed like needing more time to get used to the lessons πŸ™‚

IMG_8049

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #76 – SOS Children’s Village

Standard

Today, National Director of SOS Children’s Village Indonesia, Greg Hadi Nitihardjo, share about how to bring out the best of other people around us πŸ™‚

IMG_8878

The best of me is being the best self, the best of me for you is being good for certain people, but the most important thing is how to bring out the best of people around you.

IMG_8880

Before one be able to bring the best out of people around, one should find the best of themselves
IMG_8881

Because each person has different intelligence

IMG_8882

So everybody will have different and specific talent. This should be identified as early as possible. Kids will show their strong interests and talent, thus they should be directed and being pushed to sharpen the skill in those areas.
IMG_8883

There are ways to do multiple intelligence self assessment

IMG_8885

Multiple intelligence explains that everybody has different talent, skill and expertise. Everybody should respectΒ each other. Nobody is stupid, there are people who lack responsible and don’t want to learn. Everybody should find and improve their skill.
IMG_8886 IMG_8888

Emotional intelligence is very important
IMG_8889

It can be trained. And it is really important to improve someone to be a much better person.

IMG_8890

Wow, the topic fits mums perfectly! πŸ™‚
IMG_8892

Technical skill is important but we also have to improve our side of humanity πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #71 – Kakatu

Standard

Finally today! We got the opportunity to have CEO of Kakatu, Muhamad Nur Awaludin (Mumu) to share his recipe of “Building A Great Team to Build A Great Product!”

We had some precious time to discuss about many things before the presentation started πŸ™‚

IMG_2403

These two CEO’s exchanging ideas and experiences πŸ™‚

IMG_2406

Kakatu, is a digital protection for kids πŸ™‚
IMG_2407

Kakatu has been interviewed by lots of media. It draws lots attentions because the product offers a great solution for parents for controlling and protecting their kids from the bad influence of digital media.

IMG_2408

But the focus today was not about the product. It was about “Building a superteam, NOT a superman” πŸ™‚
IMG_2409

Every startup has its own challenge, including product and market risk. But deep below, under the surface, the biggest problem is the team risk.

IMG_2410

The milestone of Kakatu revealed: since January 2014 until now πŸ™‚
IMG_2411

January 2014: Kakatu started with less vision πŸ™‚

IMG_2412

May 2014, Kakatu was among 2 startups chosen by Indigo Incubator
IMG_2413

The CEO was a CMO back then

IMG_2414

The problem started when one (or more) person in the team start to think that he’s more important than the others
IMG_2415

Things getting worse, on Dec 2014, one founder left Kakatu
IMG_2417

so Kakatu wasΒ restructured on May 2015

IMG_2418

That was when the CEO started to think that he need to share his vision and mission with the whole team.
IMG_2419

June – Oct 2015 was like hell for Kakatu because the leader had been so busy doing pitching and competition without taking care of the team.

IMG_2420

And when Kakau decided to do one last competition, it won! πŸ™‚
IMG_2421

On Dec 2015, Kakatu decided to focus on product. Which was a bad idea too.

IMG_2422

Because the right thing to do is to take care of the team!
IMG_2423

Jan 2016, Kakatu was invited to Launchpad Accelerator by Google that gave so much impact and insights to Kakatu.

IMG_2424

So starting March 2016, CEO said that CEO have to focus on the team than the product. With the “E” stands for empathy, encourage and (think about) everything. What a great philosophy! πŸ˜‰
IMG_2425

And it was time to redefine the vision and goals. He spent more than a week to do one on one sessions with the team. And it worked effectively!

IMG_2426

Now Kakatu shared goals between team members, that keep them stick together πŸ™‚
IMG_2427

April 2016, Kakatu joined some prestigious events and expand its knowledge

IMG_2428

And it became more aware about what to do and what’s not to do πŸ™‚
IMG_2429

It starts to develop good culture for the company

IMG_2430

And by having a great and solid team, hopefully Kakatu will go far! Not just fast πŸ™‚
IMG_2431

Here we are (yes, only us, like a band LOL)

IMG_2432
IMG_2435 IMG_2436

You’ll never know how many things we have learned today from Kakatu! Too bad you didn’t make it here! πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() 5 Oct 2015 – A Cup of Friendly Tips: Psychology with a Touch of Technology

Standard

Wow, we had a topic on psychology for the first time on our codeMeetUp() today! πŸ˜‰

Fani Apriani from 123 Education shared about Psychology with a Touch of Technology πŸ™‚

IMG_7779

123 education is an organization that concerns about kids and parents (parenting). The organization has 3Dragons, an animation education and community for kids, and A Cup of Friendly Tips, a psychology activity for parenting based on technology.

IMG_7780

In a stressful like this, where the pressure and burden of life is getting higher, there are so many psychological problems occur.

IMG_7781 IMG_7782

And finding the solutions for those problems is not easy.

IMG_7783

A Cup of Friendly Tips is designed to provide solutions, with the touch of technology.

IMG_7784

The solutions cover the biggest issues in community.

IMG_7785

One of the example is corruption.

IMG_7786

The solutions being offered for corruption is to find the motives and eliminate them.

IMG_7787

The most adorable thing is that the speaker practice a very good parenting example during (and even before and after!) the presentation. She brought this little cute kid who was really brilliant creating and experimenting with shapes on PowerPoint!

IMG_7790

We also had lots of inter-discipline discussions.

IMG_7792

And this is us! Different crowd, but sharing the same spirit and happiness each time! Thanks for coming!
IMG_7794

Next week Kampoong Monster will be back with animation workshop again! πŸ˜‰

Ecoethno organizesΒ outbound adventure for kids. It offers different experience for kids by bringing them to places they have never been before while also educate them about things they won’t get at school and also at home πŸ™‚

Dr. Ihsan and his wife, Ira Shintia, started Ecoethno since 1996. They are very experienced in extreme outbounds stuff like wallclimbing, rafting or kayaking.

Their passion about kids, education and doing outdoor activities bring Ecoethno to the next level: Ecocraft. As they observed, every place they visit has their own uniqueness, in terms of culture, values and also handcrafts. Ecocraft has a mission to educate the craftsmen to improve their skill and find their markets.

The audience was just a few but didn’t mean this event failed to accomplished its goals πŸ™‚
