We learned to create some form with textfield and javascript πŸ™‚
IMG_1054

Like usual, trainers take turns to do the tasks: explaining in the front of the class, assisting the mums, some taking care of Git and taking pictures πŸ™‚
IMG_1055

The mums should apply what they learned from Day 9 – 10: javascript variables, looping, conditionals, functions and arrays.

We showed examples on the screen

Day 11 and one of the mum start wearing glasses! πŸ˜€

Trainers always make sure that everyone in the class canΒ keep up

IMG_1059

We only have 4 sessions left so we gotta work hard!

Not that hard though! We still have fun! πŸ˜‰

Ok, this one is very serious πŸ™‚
IMG_1068

3 hours, never enough πŸ˜€

IMG_1069

We have applied rules and new procedures to Git and still there are problems πŸ˜€

IMG_1070

So teaching code to mums is one thing, the other one is to make sure they don’t lose their works πŸ˜€
IMG_1071

All works should be committed and pushed to Git before the class ends.

Coding Mum Day 5 & 6 – 28 April 2016

Standard

Today we did Day 5 and Day 6 because there will be lots of holiday next week! πŸ˜‰ So the class started 9 am and ended 3 pm πŸ™‚

IMG_0151

Today we fix some conflicts and typos and errors from previous class
IMG_0152

Our mission today was to add button, dropdown list and create a new and more advanced website design.

IMG_0154 IMG_0155
IMG_0156

We also learned about branching in GitHub. So starting today we’re not accessing straight to the master but create our own branches.

IMG_0157

Took some time to understand the concept of branching and the process πŸ˜‰
IMG_0158

We had to keep an eye to the branching, commit, push and pull process to fix the conflicts and prevent merging mistakes.

IMG_0159

This kids seemed to be comfortable in the class now πŸ™‚ He did lots ofΒ Β yoga pose look like! Awesome! πŸ˜‰
IMG_0160

This going on and on for 6 hours πŸ˜€

IMG_0162

We all successfully created a whole new website, with great designs!
IMG_0163 IMG_0164

Mums also learned about cools tools like Emmet etc πŸ˜‰
IMG_0173 IMG_0174

What a great and productive day! Too bad we still don’t have the screenshot of their work from today because we haven’t merged the branches πŸ˜€ We’ll do it tomorrow πŸ˜‰
IMG_0175

And well, sh*t happens πŸ˜€ This is how you would look like if you lose your files (several .html, some .css and pics) in the process of GitHub-ing πŸ˜€ Bu Lia forgot to commit her work to GitHub and she checked out to master to fill in the attendance list so when she got back to her branch, all the works had gone! Oh wow!

IMG_0176

HEADACHE!!! πŸ˜€
IMG_0177

Phew what a long day!

IMG_0179

And we’ll do it again tomorrow πŸ˜€
IMG_0180

3:15 and they were still there πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
