ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 6 Aug 2016 – Intro to Iot

Standard

Yesterday the kids learned some intro to IoT πŸ™‚

IMG_8659

while also preparing for the exhibition πŸ™‚ Azriel has done his presentation last week so yesterday he was just improving his work.

IMG_8661

Lots of kids! yaaay πŸ™‚ We kept adding tables! πŸ™‚
IMG_8662

And some had to sit at the front table πŸ˜€

IMG_8663

Yesterday we introduce Arduino Software and Arduino board to the kids πŸ™‚ We also showed the kids a bread board with some LEDs and sensors attached to it and how they worked πŸ˜‰

IMG_8664

New kids were given one Captain to help them catching up πŸ™‚ This is Capt. Reza helping Vian creating a simple game in GameMaker πŸ™‚
IMG_8666\

Areli is also new too, he was continuing his lessons on CodeCombat πŸ™‚
IMG_8667\

On the back of the class, Tyo, Ozan and Edo were working in groups preparing for the exhibition πŸ™‚
IMG_8668

Awa was working on his Arduino project (but he didn’t bring his so he was just doing some research about it on the internet). Next to Awa is Zaky setting up his Raspberry Pi 3 πŸ˜‰
IMG_8669

Lots of kids, lots of brains and lots of ideas!
IMG_8670

These two have a Minecraft Project to be presented but they play some games waiting for their turn.

IMG_8671

Yeaaah we had Raspberry Pi 3 in class!!!

IMG_8672

WOW!

IMG_8706

The kids took turn to tinker with the Raspi 3, they’re all so excited!!

IMG_8680

And more kids ask their parents to get them one! πŸ˜€

IMG_8703

This is Darrell working on LightBot to learn about functions
IMG_8674

while next to him is Tyo working on his project
IMG_8675

Ozan was still thinking about what project to be worked on
IMG_8676

And Edo helped Arga with his Minecraft mission πŸ™‚
IMG_8677

Rezandra (on the left) has 3 different projects ongoing, he was working on one and get distracted by the Arduino πŸ˜€
IMG_8678

Areli

IMG_8679

Zahran and his LightBot
IMG_8681

Capt. Cinta had a project to do too, an Instagram-like app created with Thunkable.
IMG_8682

Muhammad was learning some JavaScript while Jundy focusing on CodeCombat

IMG_8683

Vian almost finished his game in GameMaker, thanks to Capt. Reza!

IMG_8684

Jundy

IMG_8685

Capt. Malik changed his project for the exhibition πŸ™‚ Still in Java! πŸ™‚
IMG_8686

Faris was going to present his work for exhibition, he created ProCodeCG WebView using Android Studio. But we hadn’t had time to transfer the files so we’ll do it next week.
IMG_8687

Tyo was ready with his project so he presented a great game he create with GameMaker πŸ™‚ (Notice that some captains on the right were helping him with the display and one of them was also on the sound room adjusting the volume and the echo level of the microphone πŸ˜‰ )
IMG_8689

The game is an adventure games with dialog

IMG_8693

And after you finished the adventure then it will give you questions and if you get that right you will get scores

IMG_8692

to bring you to the next level

IMG_8694

He had created several levels and will add some more!

IMG_8696

Some of the codes in GML (GameMaker Language)

IMG_8698

After the presentation and kids were still so into the Raspi πŸ˜€

IMG_8702

And Muhammad was still creatingΒ his game with Construct
IMG_8704

And Clarence was given a briefing about his Minecraft to Arduino Project. He lookes so interested!!! πŸ˜‰
IMG_8705

Time to go and let’s clean up πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – 30 July 2016 – Exhibition Prep Part 2

Standard

Whoaaa, we got lots of things going on today in our kids regular coding class πŸ˜€ We had lots of kids, lots of activities and lots of surprises πŸ˜€ We got newcomers too πŸ˜‰

IMG_7899

This is Areli, a newcomer, a very serious thinker πŸ™‚

IMG_7900

Capt. Faris and Capt. Reza working in team with Farrell to improve Farrell’s solar system code πŸ™‚
IMG_7901

While Azriel was preparing to present his work today πŸ™‚
IMG_7903

And we got our Lead Captain back! Zaki has been so busy lately after being accepted atΒ SMUN 3 Bandung πŸ™‚

IMG_7904

Clarence and Pru, working on their Minecraft project. While at the back, there were Rayna (a cousin from Netherland) and Al (Aliya) busy with their stuff too πŸ™‚
IMG_7905

We also got Jundy and Rasen as newcomers! πŸ˜‰

IMG_7906

At the back row there were Capt. Zaki assisting Vian while Edo and Tyo working on their collaboration project and we also got Ozan (blue shirt) back!!!
IMG_7907

Capt. Faris checked up on Areli while Capt. Zaki took a look on Farrell and Reza’s πŸ™‚

IMG_7908

These newcomers were fast! πŸ™‚
IMG_7909

Al was picking up where she left on CyberSecurity πŸ™‚

IMG_7910

While Rayna is working on Minecraft Hour of Code πŸ™‚
IMG_7911

Azriel preparing the presentation

IMG_7912

He created a code to translate numbers to tone πŸ™‚
IMG_7913

His code can play music by reading a file of numbers (that represent notes)

IMG_7916

The audience (who can give questions too πŸ˜‰ )
IMG_7917

Well, Azriel did it very well, both the presentation and answering the questions πŸ™‚

IMG_7918

The captains worked together to make things work (Capt. Anya helped with projector connection, Capt. Fizhan prepared the soundsystem and Capt. Zaki operated the screen) πŸ™‚
IMG_7920

While the others keep working on their own (and getting ready to do presentation next week πŸ˜‰ )

IMG_7921

Now it’s Farrell’s turn (apparently he forgot something by that gesture? LOL)
IMG_7922

Capt. Reza assisted Areli to register to CodeCombat

IMG_7923

Farrell’s code is about solar system
IMG_7924

The code prints the trail of each planet, using real metrics and constants from NASA
IMG_7926

Farrell can explain very well

IMG_7931

And did answer the questions very well, while also showing the details πŸ˜‰
IMG_7933

We also had a debate about the world is flat topic and too bad we cannot upload the video here πŸ˜€ It’s amazing how kids using their simple logic to explain twisted theory grown ups make up! πŸ˜›

And at the end of the class we clean up the room, and the cousin helped us too! Thanks Rayna, hope you enjoy the class and bring some cool memories to Netherland!

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – 16 July 2016 – CyberSecurity

Standard

We’re back after the long holiday πŸ˜‰ Lots of kids were still on vacation so the class wasn’t fully packed today πŸ™‚

IMG_6814

Ok we learned a new thing today: CyberSecurity πŸ˜‰

Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 9.33.52 AM

This good site teach us about CyberSecurity by pretending that we were a CTO of a start-up social network company πŸ˜‰

First we chose the avatar

Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 9.34.35 AM

then the company
Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 9.35.02 AM

and then the server was being attacked by virus so we have to decide what defense to be applied to the server with only 3 coins πŸ˜€

Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 9.35.59 AM

To gain more coins, we have to do three challenges: Coding Challenge, Password Cracking Challenge and Social Engineering Challenge
Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 9.44.54 AM

We also learned about social engineering fraud. Like phishing email.

The next level of social engineering challenge
Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 10.33.30 AM

We learned that we should be really careful about credit cards information

Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-16 um 10.35.40 AM

As the company grows, there will be mor challenges and attack. But with more coins, we deploy firewall, buy more servers and filter traffic. This way kids will learn about things they should pay attention about cyber security of a company.
