Kinan helped Abil with some ideas and created her own new sprites 🙂 She said she will make lots of them 🙂
We missed Justin today, hopefully he can join the next class 🙂

Hello hello homeschool coding class!
Kinan checked out the last game she created
and then decided to create a Barbershop game 😉
Kinan created lots of sprites because the game needs lots of customers 😉
While Justin is still busy improving his game 🙂
Justin tried and tested lots of techniques and tricks
A game that is so carefully and perfectly crafted 🙂 Awesome
It is always fascinating to see kids put their ideas into something like this 🙂
Always glad to have this kids come back to learn 🙂 Kinan didn’t feel well, so we had these boys and one little girl in this class today 🙂
Abiel wanted to continue his Baldy Game today
Abiel searched some references for his game, including the sounds
Halfway to go, Abiel, now create the room 🙂
For the next milestone, Abiel has to type in codes and he hasn’t finished yet. Will continue this the next class 😉
Abiel had finished a milestone of the game that we called: Mr. Baldy Hide and Seek 😀 And Aisha loves to play it 😀
While Justin still had lots of things he wants to improve 😉
Justin didn’t like to see his sprites being trimmed on the edge of the screen (things that most people won’t notice :D)
This shows how detail Justin is doing his work: he created 16 images for one sprite to make it animate smoothly 🙂
so Justin decide to rearrange the whole thing and change the wall sprites and layout
Now everything is just like Justin wanted 🙂
it’s because Justin created different wall sprites for the corners, the uppers, the lowers and those on the left and the right sides, oh my 😀

Kinan felt like drawing today 🙂 She wanted to learn some simple animation
Kinan made some simple animation and see how they looked when the animation played. She is going to add the animation to her game 🙂
Justin was still very seriously developing his Maze Game 🙂
Well good game creators are those who pay attention into details 🙂
The sprites and the objects number is growing 😀
A good education is when kids can learn happily and have space for themselves to grow and explore their potentiality 😉

Our weekly midweek awesome activity 😉
Kinar forgot to bring her laptop charger and none of us has the same type so she had to use our Macbook and learn GameMaker Studio 🙂
So Kinan created new sprites 🙂
GameMaker Studio 2 has more features and library compared to GamaMaker Lite but it also has more complex GUI and toolbar 🙂
While Abiel had to split his time between creating games and downloading antivirus because apparently some malware had been slowing his computer down 🙂
Abiel wanted to create a rocket and put it in the game 🙂
Justin still very delicately develop the Maze Game
He wanted the sprites and the room to be as similar as the reference 🙂
Justin had created more levels and next week he will learn how to create an object that will watch the score and make the game move to the next level once it reaches a certain score 🙂
The most important thing about learning is that you are having fun in the process 🙂 Will add more features and complexity to the game next week! 🙂

Kinan is so ready to give her games improvements
Like new levels, new characters and new secret portals 😉
Kinan put different sprites, maze and level of difficulties and even different sounds to each levels 🙂

Justin just started to create his game because he missed the last class
Justin learned to create sprites, objects and room today 🙂
Justin pays attention to each details, he wants this game to be as similar as the real PacMan game 🙂

Kids can put lots of ideas into a game, and there’s still lots of games to be made 🙂 The excitement will never wear off 🙂

Today we started to create our own games 🙂
Abil is very excited to re-learn again GameMaker 😉 He’s already had the scenario and concepts in mind 🙂
And Kinan is really happy to be able to create and draw her own sprites in her own game 🙂 She keeps adding more features to the game 🙂
The target is to create a Maze Game with the main character, the bad guy and the food. Points will be earn when we eat the food, the bad guy will run after the character and after we reach some points, we will move to the next level 🙂

Today Justin

and Kinan learned intro to computer science by learning python programming with CodeCombat 🙂
They had to go through levels and finish the challenge on each level
Each kid should take their time to finish each level on their own pace 🙂 The most important thing is they understand the basic and logics of programming 🙂
Next class we will be ready to create some games 🙂
Today we learned more about basics of programming: procedures. We have to break down the code into smaller parts that can be called when needed.
We learned using LightBot, and the task is to turn on the tiles that are marked and placed in a certain pattern.
Kinan arrived early so she started ahead the others
Abiel found his way to catch up and finish every level too
And Justin seemed to have no difficulties finishing the levels 🙂
We did it together and found out that we had different ways solving each level 🙂
This level is very hard and required tricky solution 🙂 Justin was really determined to finish it, he reported the result as soon as he got home and finished the task 😀
Well done, kids! We will learn more things in the next class 🙂
