ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 28 Nov 2015 – Algodoo Challenges

Standard

YesterdaaaayΒ we did some Algodoo challenges!

But before we get into the materials for today, we are going to show you what Ardi, the Algodoo expert has made a night before πŸ˜€

IMG_0675

A bulldozer to crunch a car LOL πŸ˜€

IMG_0676

Faris also created something interesting before the class: a piston πŸ™‚

IMG_0677

After checking out those cool stuff kids created at home, we started to do the challenge πŸ™‚

IMG_0678IMG_0679

Everybody has own ways to solve the challenge

IMG_0680

This is Ardi gave Gaga a jump start on Algodoo. Gaga seemed to like this kind of problem solving activity πŸ™‚IMG_0681

The siblings of ProCodeCG Kids Class Student, usually come to the class to watch their brothers/sister learning. This one is Ardi’s little brother πŸ™‚

IMG_0682

He just waited there the whole time, nicely and quietly πŸ˜€

IMG_0683IMG_0684

One of the challenge is to make a bridge strong enough for a truck to go across.Β IMG_0685

Like usual, captains are in charge to help πŸ™‚ Since we have lots of captains now, the ratio can be 1:1 πŸ™‚

IMG_0686

Faris did lots of exploration on Algodoo. He observed lots of Algodoo examples and implemented them to his own project.

IMG_0687

Gaga was keeping up quite fast. He set up his own shapes and own experiments πŸ™‚

IMG_0688

And also collaborate with Faris πŸ˜‰

IMG_0689

While the Algodoo Captain started some new project to work on

IMG_0690

It drew Cinta’s attention to make similar things πŸ™‚

IMG_0691

This is so typical of ProCodeCG Kids Class! where sharing, collaboration, and teamwork (plus leadership) happens! πŸ™‚ ❀

IMG_0693

Meanwhile, Hari, Ardi’s little brother started to create something on his big bro’s laptop… apparently it is an atomic bomb (which caused the computer hang after he ran it LOL)

IMG_0694

While the others experimenting with other things like gears for water turbines πŸ™‚

IMG_0695

This is what Ardi created based on the request: a machine to collect water from rains and flow it into some kind of big water storage. Impressive! πŸ™‚

And here we show you how many siblings in the class: this is Hari and Ardi πŸ™‚

IMG_0696

Syahna and Fizhan πŸ™‚ IMG_0697

And Faris and Farrel πŸ™‚IMG_0698

The class has always been the reason for looking forward to every Saturday. See you next week! πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 21 Nov 2015 – More Physics Simulation with Algodoo

Standard

More Algodoo today! πŸ™‚

IMG_0259

Ardi is still in charge teaching the whole class πŸ™‚

IMG_0263

Capt. Fizhan is also in charge jump starting student who missed last week’s class.

IMG_0264

Our target is to create a boat (or boats) with paddles, and make it sail!

IMG_0260

We don’t just do that, we do experiments on gears too πŸ˜€IMG_0269

Or probably adding gears to the boat..

IMG_0262

Or building the boat from scratch again because apparently it is easy while it’s not! πŸ˜€ Combination of density, shape, center of gravity, placement of paddles and motor speed determines how to boat works! πŸ˜€

IMG_0267IMG_0265

FarisΒ experimenting on ramps πŸ˜€

IMG_0266

Capt. Zaki is creating a water bomb rocket

IMG_0268

And hey, we learned about winch too!

IMG_0271

We make simulations from real life’s example

IMG_0272

We also plot the force, angular speed etc πŸ˜€

There are still lots of things we plan to do next week!

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 6 June 2015 – Conditionals and Looping in Blockly

Standard

Hello hello!

This is a report about how little programmers spend their time every Saturdays at ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class πŸ˜‰

Today we continue learning about conditionals (if-elseif-else)
IMG_1018 1We learn this step by step and each week the problem is getting harder πŸ™‚
IMG_1020 1This is how the class looks today. Everyone is trying to finish the problem. These little guy are very persistence, they won’t leave the computer until they finish the coding, and continue working even when the class is already over πŸ˜€
IMG_1022 1One of the captain is displaying the code on the screen guiding the others to finish their codes. Another captain is sitting on the back giving assistance when needed πŸ™‚
IMG_1024 1

Rangga is exploring the code, by modifying it then see what happens as the result. He is learning about looping and angles and how to make it work and draw a pentagon.

IMG_1025 1

Azriel do coding very fast. Look at how many lines he already wrote! On the side is another captain whose tasks is to make sure things ok, cable connection, wifi connection and making sure nobody is playing games πŸ˜€

IMG_1026 1

Alif is working hard solving the top hardest problem πŸ˜›

IMG_1027 1

This is Zaki, one of the captain. He always leading forward! πŸ˜€ We always ask him for solutions πŸ˜€

IMG_1028 1

Ara catches up very quickly, when he is in the mood he can finish all the tasks as fast as lightning!

IMG_1029 1

This is one of the problem. We should solve this to learn using multiple looping. The outer looping is to move and turn around 90 degrees 4 times and inner looping is to draw each yellow stars.

IMG_1030 1

And captain Syahna solved it πŸ˜‰

IMG_1031 1…and running the program

IMG_1034 1

Azriel’s parents and little sister is already there to pick him up but he insists on finishing the code, with the help of his baby sister of course LOL

IMG_1036 1So then we do the higher level, drawing several stars with several lines with looping. We can use the previous code for the basis for modification.

IMG_1040

This one, is left for a homework πŸ˜‰

IMG_1041

See you next week! πŸ™‚ ❀
