ProCodeCG – BDV – codeMeetUp() #113 IoT Series Day #1 – 6 Nov 2017

Today ProCodeCG and BDV started Day #1 of codeMeetUp() IoT Series 🙂

Today we learned some intro about IoT, take a look at some devboards and sensors

We used devboard from DyCodeX: ESPectro ver 3 🙂 It is available on Makestro Shop 🙂

and then started to install Arduino IDE, drivers and ESPectro Libraries

As usual, the beginning is always painful because it takes time to download the libraries, and do the setting 🙂

We had kids in the class too 🙂

Everybody seemed to have fun, despite of the obstacles (different on every OS :D)

The first group successfully installed ESPectro library and make the LED blinks, plus turned neopixel off. They were given task to make neopixel blink but time was up so we had to continue next week 🙂

ESPectro32 is already available on Makestro Shop, to those who are interested 😉

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Espectro Programming – 8 April 2017

Hello Saturday 🙂

Every Saturday kids report their progress or ongoing project 🙂 Koosha created an “operating system” using batch file 🙂

very interesting 🙂

Even Faris wanted to try it 🙂

Koosha finally find out how to change the colors of neopixel 🙂

Clarence came with lots of progress 🙂

He is still working on data visualization

He was asked to read a sensor and display the reading, and he did 🙂

Raul followed the handout very smoothly today 🙂 He finished all the task: button, button to serial monitor and neopixel 🙂

We had a newcomer: Danesh 🙂 Danesh Mom is a Coding Mom Alumni. She understands about coding so she was really helpful with the painful process of installing today :0

Don’t worry Danesh, we will use the toolkit as soon as we finish with this installation and setup process 🙂

We also had Gyan joining Espectro Class today 🙂 He also had to gone through painful process of installation and setting just like Danesh did 😀 We had to continue next week 🙂

Rafi finished his tasks too 🙂

Rafi looked so happy to see how neopixel changing colors like RGB LED 🙂

After 2 weeks of installation etc process, now it’s getting easier to do things with Espectro 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Espectro Programming – 1 April 2017

We were still working on installing drivers, libraries and board for Espectro yesterday 🙂 The beginning is always hard and tricky 🙂

Espectro has been running well on Mama Ren’s laptop, so yesterday they tried to make Espectro work on Ren’s laptop

We had a newcomer, Rafli 🙂 He’d gone through all the steps, the only thing we hadn’t had time to figure out is Espectro configuration on Mac (we’ve done installation on several Mac’s but this one is a bit different)

We also installed Minecraft and Spigot Server for the next class while waiting the Espectro libraries downloading

Muhammad had successfully finished Espectro installation and configuration so he was on duty to help his friends 🙂

Koosha and Dad realized they forgot to bring the Espectro, lucky that ProCodeCG has 2 Espectro 🙂

A nice Saturday for tinkering like always 🙂

Hello Farrell 🙂 He was back after a while and he also forgot to bring his Espectro and toolbox 😀

So Farrell was doing some research about his sensor projects and a also about Minecraft Modding

Capt. Reza was given different task: to create Knight Rider pattern with Espectro on board neopixel 🙂

The folder where variants folder and boards.txt has to be copied to the other directory

Rafi’s neopixel worked! 🙂

All in all, we made progress with Espectro yesterday 🙂 There were also new friendship in the class 🙂

Kids 🙂 One day they hate each other the other day they play together LOL

We’re going to explore more things with Espectro next week 🙂 Don’t worry we will help kids who haven’t finished installation and configuration process 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class – Espectro Programming – 25 March 2017

Our first day with Espectro 🙂

Today the class was set up by Zahran + Dad and Muhammad 🙂 Many thanks 🙂

Awa was really happy to use a Macbook for the class today 🙂

But today was not easy

We had to install lots of libraries and drivers. It took so much time, so we had to continue installing next week

Luckily we had Koosha

and Reza in the class, they attended Espectro Training last week so they help the class to download and install the libraries and drivers

Well the first time is usually the hardest

None of these kids finished the setting today

But don’t worry we’ll finish it next week and will get that Espectro onboard LED blinking! 😉

Yes we had kids in the class 🙂 They are ProCodeCG Kids 😉 This is Koosha

We learned to blink LED on board new Espectro (ver 3)

Prof. Budi Rahardjo explained about how diode works

Founder of Makestro helped with library settings errors and amazed to see this kid finishing the tasks very fast 😀

Then we learned to activate neopixel on board

the setting is a little bit tricky but once we got it right, things work smoothly

Then we learned to use ProCodeCG LED to create Knight Rider effect with 6 LEDs

Then finally learned about MQTT

We installed MQTT Dash on Android devices to communicate with MQTT server

MQTT worked and we started to publish and subscribe from MQTT server from Android devices

We’re planning to create a class to continue this one, probably next month 🙂
