Today, Founder and CEO of GeekHunter, Ken Ratri Iswari, showed us about Be or Not To Be An Entrepreneur 🙂

Ken Ratri Iswari is one of those rare and successful CEO. She got her Bachelor and Master Degree from SBM ITB, both cum laude 🙂 She has impressive professional experiences too, that later are very useful in helping her starting up GeekHunter.

If you think girls in IT would look so dull and nerdy, take a look at this one 🙂

After you graduate, what do you want to do? Most will answer that they will get married, or running family business, applying for a job and start up a company.

The fact is that the statistic of unemployment rate for diploma/bachelor degree is very high.

While the entrepreneur rate in Indonesia is very low compared to Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

The biggest reasons of why Indonesia is lacking of entrepreneur are these

Plus, becoming a founder of startup is a full of stress and pressure. Lots of start up founder committed suicide due of mental breakdown.

So are you sure you want to be an entrepreneur?

#1: you have to be mentally prepared.

#2: you should be able to deal with failures

The most common mental problems of entrepreneur is depression, ADHD and anxiety problems.

Again, are you sure?

#4: change your lifestyle. Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean that you will get cash quickly and immediately become rich and successful.

#5: find your way to survive.

#6: exit plan?

#7: thinking is not enough. do something.

#8: survive a year. minimum.

#9: look around to see if the environment support to you.

The signs that you are not eligible to be an entrepreneur.

Be a dreamer that do!

Cybreed collaborates many disciplines. This is what makes Cybreed’s products have strong impacts.
This is e-Fishery, one of the product. An automated fish feeder.
e-Fishery gives solutions for fish farmers
This innovation makes Cybreed earned lots of awards from INAICTA, Get in the Ring, SeedStarsWorlds, etc.
Well, success never comes easy. It was a long way before e-Fishery got its look now 🙂
And also the hardware design was never easy.
These are there process every start-up has to gone through.

Today Dimas Satrio Hutomo from FOWAB shares about Start-Up Directory Project.

FOWAB is a forum that interconnects government, companies, media, startup, talent, infrastructure and communities.

Dimas also explains about start-up ecosystem like Silicon Valley compared to what we have in Bandung.

Several components are needed for a start-up ecosystem:

FOWAB has done many great efforts to create products, projects and collaborations between these elements

Including initiating a collaboration on developing a directory together!

The code for backend can be developed using lavarel.com, frontend developed via Bootstrap and then collaborate it via GitHub.
