While at the same time ProCodeCG also had a meeting with DyCodeX 🙂 This is Ria, IoT Developer from DyCodeX 🙂

We took a picture

And start tinkering with DyCodeX ESPectro Core 🙂 The driver worked just fine on Martin’s laptop.

But most of our students Windows laptop won’t install the driver automatically

So we had to go here and tofind the driver

After we got the driver then we discuss about the GPIO and other stuff

We had problems with reading the layout and need some clarification about the devboard design

It was just the right decision to have a meeting with DyCodeX while having Geeknesia CEO around. We discussed super important things about IoT

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #74 – CyberLabs – 13 Tips to Create Your Own StartUp Company

Today before we started our 74th codeMeetUp(), we coached one of ProCodeCG Kids about a project 🙂

His Mom came as the audience of codeMeetUp() and next week she will be in our Coding Mum Class 🙂

Our guest today is the Founder and CEO of CyberLabs: Ahmad Syarif Hidayatullah 🙂

He shared all the secrets that make CyberLabs a successful startup company

It was all started in 2014 with 4 people working in one room

And the added more crews (total 8) in 2015 and moved to a real office

Then it grew exponentially to 22 crews! 🙂

CyberLabs doesn’t have investors. It is surviving by doing bootstrapping.

What exactly CyberLabs do to survive and how?

First, sensing by doing survey

Then harvesting the result

Then build a prototype

To go through validation process. If the product does not pass this phase, you should do all over again (or at least from prototyping phase)

After the product has gone through validation process, then you can scale up

The core products of CyberLabs are Atom

Hydro

and Molecule

If you’re going to create your own startup up company you should pick one of these options

And learn from these successful startup companies

The startup should be able to multiply itself, has the opportunity to become big, borderless

Has competitive advantage like Garuda Indonesia vs AirAsia and iPhone vs Samsung

Garuda Indonesia and iPhone offer premium service (differentiation), AirAsia and Samsung offer low cost (cost leadership)

The startup should ready to pivot while keep growing. Has advisory board and share holder. And also has SOP.

Investors prefer a non solo startups. A start up should customer centric, has partnerships with big companies and has disruptive technology.

And the growth should be like folding paper to the moon: exponentially! 🙂

Today, Founder and CEO of GeekHunter, Ken Ratri Iswari, showed us about Be or Not To Be An Entrepreneur 🙂

Ken Ratri Iswari is one of those rare and successful CEO. She got her Bachelor and Master Degree from SBM ITB, both cum laude 🙂 She has impressive professional experiences too, that later are very useful in helping her starting up GeekHunter.

If you think girls in IT would look so dull and nerdy, take a look at this one 🙂

After you graduate, what do you want to do? Most will answer that they will get married, or running family business, applying for a job and start up a company.

The fact is that the statistic of unemployment rate for diploma/bachelor degree is very high.

While the entrepreneur rate in Indonesia is very low compared to Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

The biggest reasons of why Indonesia is lacking of entrepreneur are these

Plus, becoming a founder of startup is a full of stress and pressure. Lots of start up founder committed suicide due of mental breakdown.

So are you sure you want to be an entrepreneur?

#1: you have to be mentally prepared.

#2: you should be able to deal with failures

The most common mental problems of entrepreneur is depression, ADHD and anxiety problems.

Again, are you sure?

#4: change your lifestyle. Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean that you will get cash quickly and immediately become rich and successful.

#5: find your way to survive.

#6: exit plan?

#7: thinking is not enough. do something.

#8: survive a year. minimum.

#9: look around to see if the environment support to you.

The signs that you are not eligible to be an entrepreneur.

Be a dreamer that do!

Woah. Today we had the youngest guest on ProCodeCG codeMeetUp(). Muhammad Arifin D. 19 yo. Founder of EcoSol SunHarvester.

He shared about “Cooking Electronics” 😉

This is his profile:

He began the journey since he was very young. For his 5th grade science project.

He creates the prototype with his own hands!

This is what can be done with the solar panel he created:

to produce hot water

to dry something indoor

to produce salt

The design keeps evolving so that he invented the portable version

Like this. This solar panel can be folded and put in a very thin box.

This young man also invent the control unit! This is the 1st version
