Standard

Our guest today is Sissy, the CEO of PetShopBox Studio πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 42

She also initiated idGeekGirls πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 20

Sissy was a lecturer too!

FullSizeRender 30

Well, her profile just fits what ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() is looking for πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 8

These are the audiences (some more showed up later)

FullSizeRender 10

A story behind the name PetShopBox Studio

FullSizeRender 9

And what PetShopBox do (tons of things!)

FullSizeRender 40

With more 90% of the clients from USA and Europe!

FullSizeRender 24

These are some of the clients

FullSizeRender 15

PSB creates games

FullSizeRender 25

And design for Minecraft gimmick and backdrop and many more

FullSizeRender 43

PSB also designed 57digital logo

FullSizeRender 17

And it is the first company in Asia created stickers for Path.

FullSizeRender 34

PSB also created stickers for LINEFullSizeRender 5

And Kakao Talk

FullSizeRender 19

And design some mascots. WOW.

FullSizeRender 11

And this is where you can find PetShopBox πŸ˜‰

FullSizeRender 35

That was just an intro. This is the topic! πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 4

Sticker chat is an effective digital marketing!

FullSizeRender 51

FullSizeRender 31

One example is Kim Kardashian Hollywood Game

FullSizeRender 18

It is very popular, it launched on 2014 and dominated Apple App Store charts!

FullSizeRender 39

But games can be made for different purposes, other than just money. Like this one. This game was created to remember Roald Dahl.

ProCodeCG Kids Programming Class 25 July 2015 – More on Logics and Problem Solving

Standard

Hello! ProCodeCG Kids Programming Regular Class has started!

Today we have 9 kids joining in, two of them are newcomers. about 5 – 6 other kids are still out of the town so hopefully next week we will have more kids! The more the merrier! πŸ˜‰

FullSizeRender 2

Like in every ProCodeCG’s kids programming class, the method is peer-learning. We have several kids as captains with the responsible to prepare things and be teaching assistants. But all the kids are expected to be able to help other kids too πŸ™‚

This is the process of class preparation. Starting up computers. preparing extension cables. Turning on the projector. Making sure there is available internet connection.

FullSizeRender 15

Today we continue learning about logics, algorithm and functions with Light Bots.

FullSizeRender 4

This is how it works: one captain giving demos on using the projector. Others are moving around giving help and make sure every kid reach the level expected in the class.

FullSizeRender 6

Kids perform better when they discuss things with each other πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 11

Like these ones too πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 12

Learning like this is really fun! Sometimes we challenge each other who can solve a problem faster than the other. The loser should do some push ups LOL

FullSizeRender 18

Parents always have difficulties in picking up kids from this class. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The kids just won’t stop πŸ™‚

FullSizeRender 7

Next week we will be learning Python πŸ˜‰

ProCodeCG Kids Half-Day Coding Camp for Advanced Day 1

Standard

First day of Coding Camp for Advanced!

Today we learn how to install CanaryMod, how set up the server, how to install ScriptCraft, how to install the latest version of Java and of course, how to install Minecraft too πŸ˜‰

IMG_3272 1

Some of the kids, of course, have already have Minecraft on their laptop. Minecraft is a very popular game and very good for stimulating creativity, logic, sense about spatial and strategy.

IMG_3273

We typed in some JavaScript commands on Minecraft’s command line and see how they works.IMG_3274 1

Kids say that this is much easier than the lessons they got on the intermediate level πŸ˜€ but the truth is, they find it easier because they are doing it while playing πŸ™‚

IMG_3275 1

Yay, Capt. BR explaining about functions (something they have learned on the previous level)

IMG_3277 1

Kids understand better and faster if they feel like playing πŸ™‚IMG_3278 1

It’s been hours and they keep saying “wow, time flies, i wish we could have more time!” πŸ˜€

IMG_3284

Well don’t worry kids, we’ll still have plenty of time tomorrow! We will learn about looping, making decisions, event-driven programming, keeping score and many more! πŸ˜‰

Today we typed our own code in Python! πŸ˜‰

IMG_3162

It took some time for us to install Python and the IDLE but after we got it work, we could immediately typed in the code and run it!

We learn to make a simple game using while, if and some random function πŸ˜‰

IMG_3163 1

We also learn some turtle moves to create interesting shapes

IMG_3164 1

Capt. BR showed some code too πŸ™‚

IMG_3166 1

He also demonstrated how to create several shapes with penup() and pendown() function

IMG_3167 1

And since some of the kids said that they had some backpain, we took a break and do some stretches a.k.a yoga! πŸ˜‰ ❀

IMG_3161

After the break they became refreshed and back to their work! πŸ™‚

IMG_3168 1

Continuing some interesting shapes like this

Woah. Today we had the youngest guest on ProCodeCG codeMeetUp(). Muhammad Arifin D. 19 yo. Founder of EcoSol SunHarvester.

He shared about “Cooking Electronics” πŸ˜‰

IMG_3078 1

This is his profile:

IMG_3081 1

He began the journey since he was very young. For his 5th grade science project.

IMG_3082

He creates the prototype with his own hands!

IMG_3083 1

This is what can be done with the solar panel he created:

to produce hot water

IMG_3085

to dry something indoorIMG_3086 1

to produce salt

IMG_3088 1

The design keeps evolving so that he invented the portable version

IMG_3089

Like this. This solar panel can be folded and put in a very thin box.

IMG_3090

This young man also invent the control unit! This is the 1st version

IMG_3091
