ProCodeCG Kids Crash Course on Intro to Programming Day 1

Hello! ProCodeCG started a 3 day Crash Course on Intro to Programming for students from EduGlobal School  at Digilife Dago 🙂

We had 5 kids ready to learn intensively in 3 days 🙂

Today we will learn some logics with a problem solving game in Python language 🙂

Each kid should finish all levels before tomorrow we move to the next topic

Today they learn about sequences and looping.

They keep saying “I’m having headache because I’m stuck in this level” but they wouldn’t stop 😀

We learn with CodeCombat today and the most interesting is that the teacher can create classes and add students in!

You can invite the students manually, or send the URL or direct students to the course

Each class will be given Class Code for student to be entered

Then the teacher can see the progress of each student

Even in details 🙂

If you get more licenses, you will be able to enroll more students and the students can learn Computer Science Level 2 and 3 (while without more license they can only learn Computer Science Level 1)

We will learn different things tomorrow!

ProCodeCG – Festival Anak Bertanya 29 May 2016

ProCodeCG was being part of Festival Anak Bertanya yesterday 🙂

This was our booth, during setup 🙂 Capt. Anya was preparing the brochures and stickers 🙂

Our set up was simple and straighforward, not posters or decorations, just laptops and x-banner 😀

One captain was down, he’s got bad flu 😦

People started visiting the booth 🙂

The festival was very successful, the number of people visiting reached 3 – 4 times compared to last year!

Lots of people visiting our booth, we ran out brochures and name card we had to go home and print some more! 😀

Kids were very interested in learning computers and make codes 🙂

Some of them come to fill in the books with data from every booth 🙂 The girl in pink is one of our Captain, Captain Cinta 🙂

And this is a captain family: Captain Faris with his mother and little brother and sister 🙂

We displayed a game created by Captain Malik, a Flappy Bird remake that feels and looks exactly the same as the original one 🙂 but made in Java language, with Greenfoot 🙂

Kids liked to play the Flappy Bird and they certainly curious how to make it 😀

We had a pretty busy booth yesterday 🙂

It was crowded and fun! 🙂

Lots of activities 🙂 Kids interested in Kids Regular Coding Class and Kids Coding Camp, and Mums interested in Coding Mum 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 28 May 2016 – codesaya.com

We had prepared several topics for today but apparently we have to save them for next class because Faris had an idea to try codesaya.com and test our Python skill 😉

codesaya.com is a local coding platform that offers online learning without installing anything.

Well this is more interesting because the whole class was doing it and we were racing to get ranks and points 😀

This way, the skill of the kids can be measured. By doing the tasks they are exposed to details and different challenges. Later we will ask them to join codefights.com so they will be able to learn and solve examples real problems in real life 😉

This youngest kid in class was also joining the challenge 😉

Each and every kids find their own way to finish every levels 😀

We also had these two little cuties on the back 😀 they were waiting for their older sister, Aliyah 🙂

While the lead captain catching up with the code, Izan opened up his toys and started to play 😉

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #71 – Kakatu

Finally today! We got the opportunity to have CEO of Kakatu, Muhamad Nur Awaludin (Mumu) to share his recipe of “Building A Great Team to Build A Great Product!”

We had some precious time to discuss about many things before the presentation started 🙂

These two CEO’s exchanging ideas and experiences 🙂

Kakatu, is a digital protection for kids 🙂

Kakatu has been interviewed by lots of media. It draws lots attentions because the product offers a great solution for parents for controlling and protecting their kids from the bad influence of digital media.

But the focus today was not about the product. It was about “Building a superteam, NOT a superman” 🙂

Every startup has its own challenge, including product and market risk. But deep below, under the surface, the biggest problem is the team risk.

The milestone of Kakatu revealed: since January 2014 until now 🙂

January 2014: Kakatu started with less vision 🙂

May 2014, Kakatu was among 2 startups chosen by Indigo Incubator

The CEO was a CMO back then

The problem started when one (or more) person in the team start to think that he’s more important than the others

Things getting worse, on Dec 2014, one founder left Kakatu

so Kakatu was restructured on May 2015

That was when the CEO started to think that he need to share his vision and mission with the whole team.

June – Oct 2015 was like hell for Kakatu because the leader had been so busy doing pitching and competition without taking care of the team.

And when Kakau decided to do one last competition, it won! 🙂

On Dec 2015, Kakatu decided to focus on product. Which was a bad idea too.

Because the right thing to do is to take care of the team!

Jan 2016, Kakatu was invited to Launchpad Accelerator by Google that gave so much impact and insights to Kakatu.

So starting March 2016, CEO said that CEO have to focus on the team than the product. With the “E” stands for empathy, encourage and (think about) everything. What a great philosophy! 😉

And it was time to redefine the vision and goals. He spent more than a week to do one on one sessions with the team. And it worked effectively!

Now Kakatu shared goals between team members, that keep them stick together 🙂

April 2016, Kakatu joined some prestigious events and expand its knowledge

And it became more aware about what to do and what’s not to do 🙂

It starts to develop good culture for the company

And by having a great and solid team, hopefully Kakatu will go far! Not just fast 🙂

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 21 May 2016 – HTML and Javascript

Hello Saturday! Today our coding class was in Digilife Dago 🙂

Yeah we got that big and crisp display againnn 🙂

To prevent kids getting bored, we changed topic today into something loose and more relaxed 🙂

We learned to code games in HTML and JavaScript, just to let kids now that if they create their games that can be run with a browser then it can be played on any devices (with browsers) 🙂

Cinta is going to be one of the Captains on next Coding Camp so today we had a newcomer, Fira and it was such a good opportunity to let Cinta practicing her role as a Captain 🙂

While two little guys in the front, Roni and Faris start coding in HTML and JavaScript

And we got another newcomer: Vian 🙂

He came last week but he didn’t bring any laptops and ProCodeCG spare laptops were all occupied 😦 So he was very excited today to do coding! 🙂

Well, Faris is going to be one of the Captains too, so he was given the task to take care of Roni 🙂

Roni got a little bit bored typing in HTML and JavaScript code so we let him learn to code with Code Combat (a visual programming in Python language) and he liked it!

We always have a great and warm and productive class each time! 😉

We also did some Code Fights too! It was so challenging!!!

Roni reported to his mom what he was doing and showed her an email sent by Code Combat about how far he has gone with the coding 😉 Mom was very proud! 😉

Coding Mum Day 15 – 19 May 2016

Finally! The last day!!! Some arrived early (the presentation should be started at 11 am but we got there around 8 😀 ) just to loosen up nerves and snacking 😀

We summoned the others via Whatsapp, bragging about some fried tofu and banana and more people coming in LOL

Coding Mum Day 14 – 18 May 2016

Day 14! Today is about finishing up for presentation the next day!

We had lots of kids today 🙂 How nice 🙂

Nothing to worry about, most Mums have created awesome web designs

We were just doing some minor revisions, like centering pics, layout arrangements, choosing colors, etc.

This one, cried last Monday because he missed to be in this class, LOL

So fun to see these kids waiting patiently for their moms 😉

We’re sooo gonna miss this class

Some Mums did really well in catching up! They did website make overs!

Some Mums have several awesome designs they couldn’t decide which one to be presented tomorrow 😀

Well, basically they have nothing to worry about

Because they’re doing good and looking good too! 😀

All was well! When something went wrong, trainers always found out ways to fix it!

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #70 – Intro to Motion Tracking in Blender

Hello, we’re introducing Pawitra Studio! A rebranding of Kampoong Monster Studio. It has a totally cool new logo!

Today, Technical Director of Pawitra Studio, Aditia A. Pratama gave a workshop about ‘Intro to Motion Tracking in Blender.”

The first step is to convert a video into sequences of pics

Using FFmpeg

The command to convert

Suppose that we’re going to place a pic or video on this black and empty monitor. We should make some marker on each corner.

And make click them to make Blender recognize them as markers to be tracked

Once Blender knows all the markers, it will start tracking them. The red and green lines shown on top shows the tracking process

To enable Blender to precisely map the pic to the surface, we have to define the corners and edges

Then we should set some things up

To start putting the pic on the target

Doing some adjustments

…and arrangements and we got it!

Lots of questions asked and we discussed about lots of things

Including about this awesome “Predator Algorithm” to track objects in real time!

And there also exists this awesome tools, Neuron, a motion capture technology.

And the discussion was going on

Too bad lots of people missed this interesting workshop!

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 14 May 2016 – More Java Programming and Godot Engine Exploration

Wooow! Today we have lots of kids coming in! 🙂

The topics for today are Java Programming, and Godot Engine exploration 😉

Faris and Ardi are assigned to explore Godot: a free and open source 2D and 3D game engine 😉

According to his exploration, Ardi said that Godot is a quite difficult and complex tool. Much difficult than Algodoo.

Ardi and Faris make a good team 🙂

Gaga has a new laptop, he has to reinstall everything but he catches up quickly.

Reza is still debugging his program. The spawning method runs uncontrollably 😀

We have the twins back! Welcome back Kevin!

Awa gets a little bored of typing 😀 We need to find something more interesting for him next week 😉

Aliyah is very quiet but she is very effective in doing her work!

We have a newcomer here, Vian was ready to start but too bad he didn’t bring any laptops and our spare were all occupied 😦 But he will come back next week! 🙂

It’s amazing to find so many talents in the class 😉

Rheino is also a regular student. He now goes to a school in Jakarta so he only show up occasionally 🙂 Glad to have you back, mate!

Coding Mum Day 13 – 13 May 2016

Wow time flies! We only have 2 classes left!

We practiced SQL on XAMPP

While one instructor was teaching, the team were listening carefully

Mums take more notes because things to remember grow exponentially through time 😀

And more errors more likely to occur 😀
