ProCodeCG Kids Crash Course on Intro to Programming Day 1

Standard

Hello! ProCodeCG started a 3 day Crash Course on Intro to Programming for students from EduGlobal School Β at Digilife Dago πŸ™‚

IMG_3044

We had 5 kids ready to learn intensively in 3 days πŸ™‚

IMG_3045

Today we will learn some logics with a problem solving game in Python language πŸ™‚
IMG_3046

Each kid should finish all levels before tomorrow we move to the next topic

IMG_3047

Today they learn about sequences and looping.
IMG_3048

They keep saying “I’m having headache because I’m stuck in this level” but they wouldn’t stop πŸ˜€

IMG_3050

We learn with CodeCombat today and the most interesting is that the teacher can create classes and add students in!

Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.01.27 PM

You can invite the students manually, or send the URL or direct students to the course
Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.01.02 PM

Each class will be given Class Code for student to be entered
Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.02.37 PM

Then the teacher can see the progress of each student

Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.02.43 PM

Even in details πŸ™‚
Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.11.59 PM

If you get more licenses, you will be able to enroll more students and the students can learn Computer Science Level 2 and 3 (while without more license they can only learn Computer Science Level 1)

Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-31 um 2.13.29 PM

We will learn different things tomorrow!

ProCodeCG – Festival Anak Bertanya 29 May 2016

Standard

ProCodeCG was being part of Festival Anak Bertanya yesterday πŸ™‚

This was our booth, during setup πŸ™‚ Capt. Anya was preparing the brochures and stickers πŸ™‚

IMG_2844

Our set up was simple and straighforward, not posters or decorations, just laptops and x-banner πŸ˜€

IMG_2860

One captain was down, he’s got bad flu 😦

IMG_2845

People started visiting the booth πŸ™‚
IMG_2846

The festival was very successful, the number of people visiting reached 3 – 4 times compared to last year!

IMG_2847

Lots of people visiting our booth, we ran out brochures and name card we had to go home and print some more! πŸ˜€
IMG_2848

Kids were very interested in learning computers and make codes πŸ™‚

IMG_2849

Some of them come to fill in the books with data from every booth πŸ™‚ The girl in pink is one of our Captain, Captain Cinta πŸ™‚
IMG_2850

And this is a captain family: Captain Faris with his mother and little brother and sister πŸ™‚

IMG_2851

We displayed a game created by Captain Malik, a Flappy Bird remake that feels and looks exactly the same as the original one πŸ™‚ but made in Java language, with Greenfoot πŸ™‚
IMG_2853

Kids liked to play the Flappy Bird and they certainly curious how to make it πŸ˜€

IMG_2855

We had a pretty busy booth yesterday πŸ™‚
IMG_2856

It was crowded and fun! πŸ™‚

IMG_2857

Lots of activities πŸ™‚ Kids interested in Kids Regular Coding Class and Kids Coding Camp, and Mums interested in Coding Mum πŸ™‚
IMG_2861

Look at this kid πŸ™‚ He was asking for a signature πŸ™‚ Hoping that he will join ProCodeCG Kids later πŸ™‚
IMG_2862

Hoping to see you again next year! πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 28 May 2016 – codesaya.com

Standard

We had prepared several topics for today but apparently we have to save them for next class because Faris had an idea to try codesaya.comΒ and test our Python skill πŸ˜‰
IMG_2758

codesaya.com is a local coding platform that offers online learning without installing anything.

IMG_2759

Well this is more interesting because the whole class was doing it and we were racing to get ranks and points πŸ˜€
IMG_2760

This way, the skill of the kids can be measured. By doing the tasks they are exposed to details and different challenges. Later we will ask them to join codefights.com so they will be able to learn and solveΒ examples real problems in real life πŸ˜‰

IMG_2763

This youngest kid in class was also joining the challenge πŸ˜‰
IMG_2764

Each and every kids find their own way to finish every levels πŸ˜€

IMG_2765

We also had these two little cuties on the back πŸ˜€ they were waiting for their older sister, Aliyah πŸ™‚
IMG_2766

Izan and Aidan πŸ™‚ we believe one day they will join this class too πŸ˜€

IMG_2767

While the lead captain catching up with the code, Izan opened up his toys and started to play πŸ˜‰
IMG_2768

Capt. Anya and Capt. Cinta working on their stuff. This is good for coding camp preparation πŸ™‚

IMG_2769

Azriel and Aliyah. Solve problems with different approaches πŸ™‚
IMG_2770

Capt. Faris was helping Awa with his laptop πŸ™‚

IMG_2771

Later on, Awa got bored with codesaya, and we tried to install Kodu into his laptop and failed, so he was just go like this πŸ˜€
IMG_2772

Aliyah is a very quiet kid. But very productive πŸ™‚

IMG_2773

Capt. Zaki, and Capt. Malik! We’re getting more captains now!
IMG_2774

Look at this kid! The most awesome thing about this class is that kids feel comfortable to interact and doing things in here πŸ˜‰

IMG_2775

Capt. Fizhan was trying to make contact with Aidan πŸ˜€
IMG_2776

One day you’ll give up gaming and be a coder, kid πŸ˜€

IMG_2777

One of the parent, waiting up through the class πŸ™‚
IMG_2778

The curse of coding is: cannot stop! πŸ˜€

IMG_2779

We can go like this like forever πŸ˜€
IMG_2780

But these crowd over here is very nice! πŸ˜€ Little ones were gathering and playing board games together! πŸ™‚

IMG_2781

And this one. Refuse to go πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
IMG_2782

See you next week, Indonesian’s future! πŸ˜‰

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #71 – Kakatu

Standard

Finally today! We got the opportunity to have CEO of Kakatu, Muhamad Nur Awaludin (Mumu) to share his recipe of “Building A Great Team to Build A Great Product!”

We had some precious time to discuss about many things before the presentation started πŸ™‚

IMG_2403

These two CEO’s exchanging ideas and experiences πŸ™‚

IMG_2406

Kakatu, is a digital protection for kids πŸ™‚
IMG_2407

Kakatu has been interviewed by lots of media. It draws lots attentions because the product offers a great solution for parents for controlling and protecting their kids from the bad influence of digital media.

IMG_2408

But the focus today was not about the product. It was about “Building a superteam, NOT a superman” πŸ™‚
IMG_2409

Every startup has its own challenge, including product and market risk. But deep below, under the surface, the biggest problem is the team risk.

IMG_2410

The milestone of Kakatu revealed: since January 2014 until now πŸ™‚
IMG_2411

January 2014: Kakatu started with less vision πŸ™‚

IMG_2412

May 2014, Kakatu was among 2 startups chosen by Indigo Incubator
IMG_2413

The CEO was a CMO back then

IMG_2414

The problem started when one (or more) person in the team start to think that he’s more important than the others
IMG_2415

Things getting worse, on Dec 2014, one founder left Kakatu
IMG_2417

so Kakatu wasΒ restructured on May 2015

IMG_2418

That was when the CEO started to think that he need to share his vision and mission with the whole team.
IMG_2419

June – Oct 2015 was like hell for Kakatu because the leader had been so busy doing pitching and competition without taking care of the team.

IMG_2420

And when Kakau decided to do one last competition, it won! πŸ™‚
IMG_2421

On Dec 2015, Kakatu decided to focus on product. Which was a bad idea too.

IMG_2422

Because the right thing to do is to take care of the team!
IMG_2423

Jan 2016, Kakatu was invited to Launchpad Accelerator by Google that gave so much impact and insights to Kakatu.

IMG_2424

So starting March 2016, CEO said that CEO have to focus on the team than the product. With the “E” stands for empathy, encourage and (think about) everything. What a great philosophy! πŸ˜‰
IMG_2425

And it was time to redefine the vision and goals. He spent more than a week to do one on one sessions with the team. And it worked effectively!

IMG_2426

Now Kakatu shared goals between team members, that keep them stick together πŸ™‚
IMG_2427

April 2016, Kakatu joined some prestigious events and expand its knowledge

IMG_2428

And it became more aware about what to do and what’s not to do πŸ™‚
IMG_2429

It starts to develop good culture for the company

IMG_2430

And by having a great and solid team, hopefully Kakatu will go far! Not just fast πŸ™‚
IMG_2431

Here we are (yes, only us, like a band LOL)

IMG_2432
IMG_2435 IMG_2436

You’ll never know how many things we have learned today from Kakatu! Too bad you didn’t make it here! πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 21 May 2016 – HTML and Javascript

Standard

Hello Saturday! Today our coding class was in Digilife Dago πŸ™‚

IMG_2210

Yeah we got that big and crisp display againnn πŸ™‚

IMG_2211

To prevent kids getting bored, we changed topic today into something loose and more relaxed πŸ™‚

We learned to code games in HTML and JavaScript, just to let kids now that if they create their games that can be run with a browser then it can be played on any devices (with browsers) πŸ™‚

Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-21 um 9.48.47 AM

Cinta is going to be one of the Captains on next Coding Camp so today we had a newcomer, Fira and it was such a good opportunity to let Cinta practicing her role as a Captain πŸ™‚

IMG_2212

While two little guys in the front, Roni and Faris start coding in HTML and JavaScript

IMG_2213
IMG_2214

And we got another newcomer: Vian πŸ™‚

IMG_2216

He came last week but he didn’t bring any laptops and ProCodeCG spare laptops were all occupied 😦 So he was very excited today to do coding! πŸ™‚
IMG_2218

Capt. Anya supervising her junior (Capt. Cinta) πŸ™‚

IMG_2217

Well, Faris is going to be one of the Captains too, so he was given the task to take care of Roni πŸ™‚
IMG_2219

Capt. Anya took care of things when Capt. Cinta was overloaded πŸ˜€

IMG_2220

More kids showed up! Azriel was there too πŸ™‚
IMG_2221

And also our Lead Captain: Zaki πŸ™‚

IMG_2222

Zaki was given the task to modify this code and elevate this into a more advanced code πŸ™‚
IMG_2223

Capt. Cinta did her work so well πŸ˜‰

IMG_2224

Roni got a little bit bored typing in HTML and JavaScript code so we let him learn to code with Code Combat (a visual programming in Python language) and he liked it!
IMG_2225

We always have a great and warm and productive class each time! πŸ˜‰

IMG_2226
IMG_2227

We also did some Code Fights too! It was so challenging!!!

IMG_2228

Bildschirmfoto 2016-05-21 um 8.36.05 PM

Roni reported to his mom what he was doing and showed her an email sent by Code Combat about how far he has gone with the coding πŸ˜‰ Mom was very proud! πŸ˜‰
IMG_2229

Capt. Anya dan Capt. Cinta working together to assist Fira πŸ™‚

IMG_2230

While Azriel and Capt. Zaki were trying to solve the problem given to them πŸ™‚
IMG_2232

We had lots of stuff to unload and load back for the class πŸ™‚

IMG_2237

As much as the fun and happiness we brought back home! See you next week kids! πŸ™‚ ❀

ProCodeCG codeMeetUp() #70 – Intro to Motion Tracking in Blender

Standard

Hello, we’re introducing Pawitra Studio! A rebranding of Kampoong Monster Studio. It has a totally cool new logo!

IMG_1738

Today, Technical Director of Pawitra Studio, Aditia A. Pratama gave a workshop about ‘Intro to Motion Tracking in Blender.”

IMG_1739

The audience today.
IMG_1743

The first step is to convert a video into sequences of pics

IMG_1744

Using FFmpeg
IMG_1745

The command to convert

IMG_1746

Suppose that we’re going to place a pic or video on this black and empty monitor. We should make some marker on each corner.
IMG_1747

And make click them to make Blender recognize them as markers to be tracked

IMG_1749

Once Blender knows all the markers, it will start tracking them. The red and green lines shown on top shows the tracking process
IMG_1750

To enable Blender to precisely map the pic to the surface, we have to define the corners and edges

IMG_1751

Then we should set some things up
IMG_1752

To start putting the pic on the target

IMG_1753

Doing some adjustments
IMG_1754

…and arrangements and we got it!

IMG_1755

Lots of questions asked and we discussed about lots of things

IMG_1756

Including about this awesome “Predator Algorithm” to track objects in real time!

IMG_1758

And there also exists this awesome tools, Neuron, a motion capture technology.
IMG_1759

And the discussion was going on

IMG_1760
IMG_1761

Too badΒ lots of people missed this interesting workshop!

IMG_1763

These are the lucky ones to learn so much from Pawitra Studio today! πŸ™‚

ProCodeCG Kids Regular Coding Class 14 May 2016 – More Java Programming and Godot Engine Exploration

Standard

Wooow! Today we have lots of kids coming in! πŸ™‚

IMG_1514

The topics for today are Java Programming, and Godot EngineΒ exploration πŸ˜‰

IMG_1504

Faris and Ardi are assigned to explore Godot: a free and open source 2D and 3D game engine πŸ˜‰
IMG_1507

According to his exploration, Ardi said that Godot is aΒ quite difficult and complex tool. Much difficult than Algodoo.

IMG_1508

Ardi and Faris make a good team πŸ™‚
IMG_1509

Gaga has a new laptop, he has to reinstall everything but he catches up quickly.

IMG_1510

Reza is still debugging his program. The spawning method runs uncontrollably πŸ˜€
IMG_1511

We have the twins back! Welcome back Kevin!

IMG_1515

Welcome back Michael!
IMG_1516

Awa gets a little bored of typing πŸ˜€ We need to find something more interesting for him next week πŸ˜‰

IMG_1517

Aliyah is very quiet but she is very effective in doing her work!
IMG_1518

Yaaay, we have the Lead Captain, Zaki, back! He doesn’t like to be photographed so we just have to accept this πŸ˜€

IMG_1519

Pru is working on assets for her game
IMG_1520

Look at this kids! The don’t come just for coding, the also play and talk with each other, including cats πŸ˜€ This class is always so warm and comfortable!

IMG_1521

We have to keep adding table because so many kids show up today πŸ™‚

IMG_1522

The Lead Captain has to keep up very quickly because we need him to help running the class! Especially with this volume of the students πŸ˜€

IMG_1524

The crowd over here is still busy doing their so-called “Vengeance Project”. But at the end of the class they said they were bored and want to change topic LOL
IMG_1525

We have a newcomer here, Vian was ready to start but too bad he didn’t bring any laptops and our spare were all occupied 😦 But he will come back next week! πŸ™‚

IMG_1526

These girls over here write stories to in between coding πŸ™‚
IMG_1527

It’s amazing to find so many talents in the class πŸ˜‰

IMG_1528

Rheino is also a regular student. He now goes to a school in Jakarta so he only show up occasionally πŸ™‚ Glad to have you back, mate!
IMG_1529

Faris is showing Gaga some Godot’s features

IMG_1530

Ardi is still working on understanding Godot πŸ˜€
IMG_1531

It’s always like this, kids would be still busy and unprepared to go when their parents picking them up πŸ˜€

IMG_1532

Whooaaaa lots of kids and parents πŸ™‚

IMG_1534 IMG_1535
IMG_1536 IMG_1537

The kids are still busy with lots of things
IMG_1538

Looks like they would never leave πŸ˜€

IMG_1539

It’s so great to see these kind of interactions and the warmth of friendship in the class πŸ™‚
IMG_1540

Reza, was still working hard debugging his code, even after the class ended. He’s just a determined mind.

IMG_1541

Awa, has called it a day already. LOL
IMG_1542

And this guys are getting ready to go home. The apparently didn’t achieve lots of progress today so that they wanted to change topics πŸ˜€

IMG_1543

We’ll see what we’re going to learn next week! πŸ˜‰

Coding Mum Day 13 – 13 May 2016

Standard

The last topic today: SQL πŸ™‚

IMG_1405

Teaching team

IMG_1407

Wow time flies! We only have 2 classes left!
IMG_1408

And this laptop has on more sticker on it (the owner said she leaves some spaces for ProCodeCG’s stickers πŸ˜€ )

IMG_1409

We practiced SQL on XAMPP
IMG_1410

While one instructor was teaching, the team were listening carefully

IMG_1411

… or doing silly things LOL
IMG_1413

Mums take more notes because things to remember grow exponentially through time πŸ˜€

IMG_1415

And more errors more likely to occur πŸ˜€
IMG_1416

Look at the face πŸ˜€ Can things be more serious than this? πŸ˜€

IMG_1417

Or this? Can whatever displayed on the screen get tougher?
IMG_1419

IMG_1420

IMG_1421

We swear, these two were so busy and serious but every time the camera was ready to take a pic they would act completely different LOL

IMG_1422

Lots of love in the air! πŸ˜‰ ❀ ❀ ❀
IMG_1423

And yeah, things are getting tougher

IMG_1424

More frowns in the class πŸ˜€
IMG_1425

And also more love πŸ˜‰

IMG_1426

Three hours never enough. But we had to call it a day!
IMG_1427

Next week will be about preparation and final presentation!
